Ouch! What would she eat instead? How about healthy food.

I'm sorry Greenleaves... she sounds rather selfish. That must not be easy to deal with.

Nah, she's not selfish, she just doesn't know how to support me in my weight loss.

Whenever I decide to eat less than I usually do, she offers me more food. I guess she thinks I will starve or something. She just shows her caring through food sometimes.

Greenleaves, please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm starting to think I understand why you are lacking attention. That's nice that you stick up for her, but that IS selfish. I mean, I wasn't there or anything, but you said that her response is "what would *I* eat" and that she's not willing to give up her junk food in order to help you. That doesn't indicate to me that she's paying attention to YOU and what YOU need. I wonder how this crosses over to other areas of your life.

Anyway, I don't mean to implicate your mother. It just seems worth taking note of.

I think it's OK for my Mom to be a little selfish. She does so much for the family, she deserves it. I know that we are not a family to show affection for each other and I know I might be a little screwed up because of that, but it's OK.

Hmmm...right now I'm craving something sweet. I think I'll go have a diet Coke.

Diet sodas are worse for you than non diet, btw (so say the experts on health)

I ate fettucini alfredo with chicken, pasta fagioli and a garlic roll :O

A meal replacement bar. 250 calories
Meatloaf in Gravy with Broccoli and cauliflower cheese sauce microwave dinner 190 Calories
Quite a few Doritos Weight loss thread I caved in

A few cooked Chinese green leaf veggies

Hi Sky, do you know why diet sodas are worse? I like them cuz they don't have any calories.

I'm desparate to lose weight. I'm thinking of asking for prescription diet pills...maybe something like Xenical. My BMI is 23, do you think I'll get the Xenical? I'm technically not overweight, but I have a lot of fat.

I don't think you should do that. Are you exercising? My opinion: diet pills ONLY if you are exercising. You might lose weight temporarily, but you'll never keep it off unless you exercise.

exercise. i think exercise rather than restrictive eating is the way to go.

running or walking or biking or swimming.

that way... you build muscle tone. i'm not overweight technically... but i think i have a lot of fat. i KNOW i have a lot of fat. all squishy and yuk and best not go there... it all began when i had some injuries and couldn't walk the way i used to :-(

i had really toned thighs and butt and stomach from walking. now it has turned to flab.

if you get a cardio workout... then that is terrific for you in the sense that it gets the endorphins going (which is incompatible with depression too).

:-)

also... a workout can be a good way to vent frustration.

maybe... kickboxing or something?

maybe... your uni has a club?

Exercise...I don't really exercise.

I never enjoyed playing sports, I never really got into the whole exercise thing.

I'm afraid I'm waaay too shy to join a club or go to a gym... I recently bought this aerobics DVD. I think I should do it more often.

I think I'm too impatient...I want to lose a lot of weight really quickly. A small setback like caving into Doritos makes me think that I'll put on 2 pounds or something. I know this just isn't true...but I think that's how disastrous it feels.

I think, no, I will do aerobics tomorrow.

Last night (I met a client for drinks):
- 1.5 glasses of red wine
- 2 pieces of pita with hummus
- 3 dates stuffed with almonds, wrapped with prosciutto
Later that night:
- no-oil microwave popcorn (but then I added some olive oil)

Today:
- 2 cups of green tea
- about 2/3 cup of nonfat cottage cheese

If that's what you ate the whole day, I don't think that's a lot of food at all Sky.

Results, I'm seeing REEEEESUUUUUULTS!!!!!!! Weight loss thread My efforts are paying off.

I've avoided stepping on the scale several times a day every day. I weighed myself this morning and I've lost almost 3 pounds this week. (It's hard to tell exactly because the 1 pound marks betwen the 5 pound marks are so small, but it's slightly to the left of middle).

I haven't been feeling deprived, but I have had to markedly reduce my overly-beloved starchy carbs. Weight loss thread Carbs are my weakness - chips, cookies, crackers, fries, egg rolls... All those nutritionless calories. Weight loss thread

I'm glad you are achieving results you like Weight loss thread If I were you, I'd say 2 lbs (and give the extra to next week's?) Two lbs a week is healthy change.

Weight loss thread

I don't weigh very often at all... but allow my clothes to tell me, as that's the main thing. I don't care what I weigh, as long as I fit into my size 10s!!! hehehe

A balanced diet is what's best, like you cut back on the empty carbs. I have to add some of those in... I don't get enough! Ifind that I swing through various cravings... sweet, protein, carbs... and over a month's time, it's balanced.

You are one smart lady, imo!

I had a slice of pizza for breaking the fast...at least....... thunderstorms due in again today, not sure I will get out to eat anything else...
