But, still....wonder how common this is -- am pretty sure current T's informed consent form didn't have any such language.
Why don't they just say "failure is guaranteed".

You forgot what showing up to teach is like?

Actually i loooooove fuzzy apple cider vinegar. Its not salad without it.

Eta - people keep posting pictures of CAAAAAKE on a certain other website. I complained. I think its the definition of unsupportive. Carp. Not this again. I dont mind seeing pictures of salad, or SMALL servings of low calorie ice cream, or fish, or fruit, or even multiple boxes of low calorie food. Or veggie burgers. Or fake cheese. Its like your brain KNOWS there are no taste molecules there!!

Eta - artie bread doesnt bother me! Its not cake!!

"Thanks" would be sufficient, I think.

I like "emotica" as a word. It goes with "erotica". It looks like fun, but it's sterile and plastic underneath.

Speaking of emotica, I caught some of the Little League World Series at the gym and when they put the banner up to tell you the batter's name etc. they also have "favorite emoticon."

oh lord. i just remembered something i let slip out in t today. we got on the subject of my ex (because I had a dream about him a few nights ago) and why we split up (because he cheated) and how I caught him and omg I can't believe I told her. well if she didn't judge me today, I guess she never will. i managed to keep it a secret for almost 5 years. Now I have no more secrets in there. Ugh.

I'm sure this will aid your healing in the end.

The interesting question is, why did you feel you had to keep this secret from your T?

Ha! Maybe that's how you know it's time to quit. When you have told your last secret!
(Although I don't think she's ever going to let me go. I'm just going to have to take a permanent break, methinks.) (yes, I'm on that subject again.) (don't judge me.)

Thanks for this!

I dunno. It just never came up I suppose. We rarely talk about my ex - that's a closed chapter and has been for a long time. Besides he passed away a few years ago.

I am so exhausted from work and next week will be even worse with meetings almost every day and classes start on Saturday. I'm already so tired I don't know how I'm going to function, let alone get anything done. Mild panic setting in.

About books: my therapist has a lot of books in her office, but when I asked her what she would recommend for me, she said she couldn't think of any. That was about a year ago. I recently asked again, reminding her that she had said she couldn't think of any and how she is the first therapist to not recommend books at the drop of a hat. I said I thought I wasn't worth a book recommendation, but would try again. She said I was worth many book recommendations, and was sorry I was left with that feeling. I guess she had wanted to avoid triggering me with a book at the time. Anyway, she suggested some that I mostly shot down, but there was one I was interested in because of the brain science part. I started reading it one afternoon and fell into an almost instant sleep--which is a trigger response of mine. Anyway, I still don't see the harm if I had read it a year ago. It was worse thinking she had all those books and couldn't think of one for me.

Then again, she knows that I would shoot down all the gooey, positive ones, and it would have wasted my session time to rant about them.

I don't believe so. It's more about whether u feel it will bring you more closure.
She's doing a job after all. You have the right to say that you're not sure if you are a good fit???

Two of the axioms of psychotherapy seem to be:
1. Old pain is always relevant.
2. Death solves nothing.
