Just an unsolicited testimonial - 1. nobody is more areligious than i am, and it did not annoy me. 2. The peoples stories made it totally worth it for me. Books are so dry compared to what people share. But the books are good for learning the theory. 3. I practically have a phd in codependency. Its not something i really like to brag about!

Okay, now i am totally confused about where you live, where you study, where is home, and where you vacation. You are totally a woman of mystery!

Apparently there is a Chinatown in London, but I never heard of it when I lived there. Maybe it's new?

What do they say about KARMA? It can take a long time to come back around. Something like that.

What if you write the bad numbers backwards? Would that make them good?

Three is the only bad number, or numbers that end with a three, changing the numbers round only works for every number but the single number three

Thanks, it was the description of the local group closest to my house that turned me off, but I see they have online meetings too, and there's another local one not too far from me that sounds a little less well pushy. I might check that one out it meets tomorrow.

Thanks una, good to hear it didn't annoy you. Right now, at this moment in time, I think books and learning theory are what I prefer but I still might at least go to one meeting just to see what it's all about.

I don’t know about you, art, but I find for myself that books and learning theory are a sure way to stay up in my head and not actually engage with whatever it is.

What has not helped me is last night there was something happen on the street at stupidly late o clock, there was a lot of yelling and the cops were called.

I'm just glad there was no loud bangs because that's what I can't deal with.

It looks like the weather will be a wash out in these parts today. It hasn’t started raining quite yet but it’s supposed to rain all day when it starts. Why couldn’t it rain this week when I was a lone at home and didn’t want to do stuff? Now it’s Saturday and it’s boom. Oh well. I guess it will be TV all day.

Good point, I'm likely gonna check out one meeting anyway, just to see how it is, at the less-preachy-sounding one. Shy me who prefers books has to be dragged out to something new. I don't do "new" very easily when it comes to new people. You might or might not remember that it took me over a YEAR to finally go to a circle with my drumming group after I found them on meetup.com..... lol the fact that i'm considering attending one of these meetings already tomorrow is HUGE.

There is a place around here that has anonymous meetings for everything under the sun and they are free. I can imagine they probably get crowded as they are facilitied by actual therapist and not peer led. I wonder what it would be like to just pick one and go. It’s my understanding that you don’t have to talk at all.

I went to (fancy beach town) the other day for non-T-related reasons. It was my first time there, and I ended up loving it— though I was sore about it at first.. We drove right by my therapist’s house, which was weird and exciting and sad and intriguing. Didn’t see her- she was prob in the city. The town is her stomping ground where she is all the time, about a 4 hr drive from the city. But she takes the boat.. she was never shy taking about it. It felt surreal to be there, especially now that she’s not really in my life anymore. I kind of can’t belive I was right there... I miss her & it’s a constant internal battle whether to reach out or not. Oh, life...

At the risk of losing my mystery and allure- I officially live in London, but am around 6 hours away most of the time due to school. The last time i was here was at Christmas.

We have our own version of China town next to the largest Lego store in London.

I have three more sessions with R before he leaves and right now i'm so crazy angry at him, I don't want to see him. He will just leave me behind, and i haven't done an exam without him.

Woke up to three patrol cars across the street from my home. I went outside and waved, asked what was up. Just enjoying the sun, one of the officers said. I pointed my hand in one direction and then another and said, This way or that way? They pointed in one of those directions and I nodded. "Bet you already knew that," one of them said. I sure did. Known drug house and (I suspect) a lot of stolen property. I have been hoping someone was on it. This is the second visit. The first was a swat team a few months ago.

Art, I got talked into an ACOA meeting once, and it was a horrible match. On the upside, I left feeling really great about myself because the people there were super messed up. The person who dragged me there said the groups vary widely. He had been going to one in another town and said this one wasn't to his liking either. So I guess, just go with an open mind, without thinking it's representative of all groups if you don't click. Think of it like an assignment from one of your psych classes, to give yourself a little room for objectivity. That way, if it doesn't suit you, meh, try another.
Thanks for this!
