Big meeting today at work really wasn't all that bad. I didn't have one of the answers but mostly I was able to answer the questions. I wasn't too anxious so that's good. I get used to being alone in my office so it's weird when I have to interact. Weird, but good.

My normally quiet neighbourhood is alive with sirens, hoons revving their engines and today i need a low stimulus day as my nerves are very jarred. Even my favourite queit time music is annoying me.

I just rec'd an email from school saying I wasn't marked as being in class last week so they are going to drop me from the class. Hello what?! I was there! Since when do you get kicked out anyway for missing one class (which i didn't even miss)? You pay for the class regardless if you go or not. Sheesh. I just forwarded the email to the prof and asked her to please update the college that I was there last week. I have the stuff she handed back to us, for heaven's sake. I hope she's ok. She is pretty old.

At my university you can be dropped for missing the first day of classes (to be sure there’s room in the course for others who might want to take it). A month in seems kind of draconian, though.

I've actually had my first semi productive day in lab since I've been back. It's going to be a close call with the bus home tonight. I have my last timepoint at 8:40 and the last bus is at 9.
I wanted to time my timepoints so I'd be able to make it to the 7-8 SMART Recovery meeting near campus between my 1 and 3 hour timepoints. I'll probably be a few min late, but I think I probably need the support right now.

I am not a fan of most pancakes. They always seem to turn to lead. I like waffles slightly better although I don't know why they don't become a heavy ball of cement like pancakes seem to do for me.

I celebrated by giving my students empathic looks and asking them how it felt to hear me correct their translations.

Then I went to IHOP.

Why is it a thing indeed. Does it need its own day? What purpose does it serve?

Ah ha! Now you can test whether their translations improved post your intervention, and by extension, finally scientifically prove whether therapy works or not.

(Assuming they didn’t all follow you to IHOP and the effect isn’t contaminated by maple syrup or something).
Thanks for this!

Even terrible parents get Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Why shouldn’t therapists have their own day to boost their self-esteem?

I think that might prove pedagogy works.

I loathe maple syrup.

My T would be all over a psychotherapy day. He is "passionate" about psychology and even has an 'i heart psychology' sticker hiding a rip in his chair his chair is mainly held together by masking tape. Its the only chaitr that doesnt hurt his back apparently

I don’t think anyone’s criticizing you, art. You just provoked some discussion is all.

You’d have to take roll. I don’t in lectures (not on the first day), and in small classes I already know everyone there and wouldn’t report any for missing the first day, but some of my colleagues are fanatic about it.

Art-I just wanted to hear your Steve Martin impression.

I’m glad you mentioned the day. Now I know a new thing. Still don’t get it, but I learned something I didn’t know before.

I think I have a pinched nerve. Whenever I stand up, my whole left arm tingles like it has been to sleep and is waking back up. Time to go look up some Home remedies
