Double oops. H won't even notice cuz I'm the one that sits outside and hands out the candy to the trick or treaters.

I think I'm going to take all the peanut m&m's out of the 2 boxes and hide them in my nightstand. heehee

I need to get my flu shot and I still haven't gotten my shingles shot either I do not know why I'm dragging my feet well actually yes I do it's because I am sick of medical carp this year ha. Glad you got your flu & RSV shots done. I have my mammo coming up on Nov 10 along with my yearly thyroid scan. Maybe I'll schedule the vaccines for that afternoon on the way home from the imaging place...

I love grapenuts, haven't had them in a while, thanks for reminding me of them! I have to go to the grocery store tomorrow morning so I must pick up a box. ooh - spreading PB Fit on a banana then rolling in grapenuts sounds delicious right now.

Or maybe because he's male? Just guessing here.

In terms of your grief, maybe it would help to just tell yourself it's OK to be sensitive right now, that you're dealing with a big change coming up, with L being out. Also to remind yourself that the change is temporary.
I think I feel scared about feeling connected to G because he is a stranger and a man. Feeling connected opens me up to him, makes me more vulnerable to him harming me. How? Idk. It's scary to realize how he affected me. If he was a woman, it would still freak me out, but that would be because I would then feel like I was betraying L.

I'm not too worried about the relationship being temporary. 1. He might be useful to have as a backup therapist in the future. 2. I don't want an attachment to him, nor am I afraid I'll have one with him. It also helps that I don't have to be with him in-person.

Being okay with my sensitivity (aka self-compassion)... L has been trying to teach me that this year, especially the last couple months. It's difficult. She wants me to learn to have compassion for all my parts (SI, hide-shrink, child, sensitive/emotional, etc.). She says my protective parts are just trying to protect my hurting parts, and that we need to be gentle and loving towards all my multitudes. I'm finding it difficult to love my overly sensitive parts because I feel like they're putting me at risk, in danger.

Yes. Thank you. All of this is temporary. T used to tell me that too. I need to remember that.

Thanks, LT.

Because I still keep to date:

The FDA found in one recent study that getting the Flu shot and the Covid shot together increased your risk of stroke.

It is perfectly okay to ask your provider for separate doses if you wanted to.

Or you could get them both at the same time if you wanted. Your choice.

Covid shots may slightly increase risk of stroke in older adults, particularly when administered with certain flu vaccines | CNN

Thanks for this - my mother ended up in hospital following both vaccines on same day, I urge anyone to consider getting them singly.

You should do that! Peanut M&Ms are awesome, so I don’t blame you for hiding them. I
once bought a big jar and filled it with 5 packets of M&Ms and gave that as a gift.

I like peanutbuter cups the most though.

I’m sorry to hear about your mother. I hope she is making a speedy recovery.

I did think about not posting, but I know I would have regretted it if something did happen.

It’s a well balanced article, it points out its observational and doesn’t prove causation and also a very small increase of stroke. I think it’s a good article to share, we need information when making health decisions. Mum went along with two on the same day because they were delivering them that way and she didn’t want to be a bother!

We were shocked at how unwell mum got, and she’s normally very fit and well. But since then I’ve heard a few stories from that age group having adverse reactions. She’s still a little weak a few weeks later but she’s getting better thanks.

Everything is a balancing test of risk and no one gets out alive.
I have ways I would prefer to go and prefer not with a lot in the middle and probably some I don't know about. I plan on avoiding pneumonia shots because in the big scheme - less objectionable to me to go that way than being kept alive but not living. I think most just want quick rather than lingering and at home rather than a bunch of misguided dogooders messing around at them- or I do at least.

Worse - definitely worse. Not because of exhankster (although the thought of her making videos in her youth does give me pause) but because I think all the self video stuff is just flat out odd and I find most video annoying. I much prefer to read information on my own than watch a video - and the people who like to tape themselves doing stuff or worse their kids - are incomprehensible to me. You kids get off my lawn.

HaI! I've always been an all or nothing person. I do not have any will power when it comes to chocolate. I try to not keep lots at home, because I know I could easily eat a box of 16 Ferrero rochers in two days. Started keeping dark chocolate for emergencies, and it can stay for a while.

The first time I tried Reese's I was in love. I don't like the mini ones as much though. I've tried Hershey's, but can't remember what it tasted like. Though the kisses look cool.

Seen Butterfingers and twinkies in movies.

I have absolutely no self-control when it comes to Reese's in any shape or form it's like I go into this totally mindless zone where I just eat them without even realizing I am doing so until they're gone, then suddenly I am forced to snap out of my chocolate fugue. It's happened more than once. I can't buy them at all anymore. Evil, delicious little things.

The peanut m&m's I love, but after the 2 little bags of them that I ate yesterday I'm able to leave the box taped shut again and in the bottom of the pantry as if they aren't there. That would never happen with Reese's!

Just logged into my Assertiveness class this morning, and ahhhh - today - is the chapter I've been waiting for "How to be verbally assertive". I figured out how to print the full lessons so I've already printed what's unlocked so far, and as each lesson unlocks I'll print them and put them in a binder for future reference.

Time to dig in.

Butterfingers are good but they stick in your teeth something awful. Twinkies are overrated. Reese's are the best.

You guys might want to increase your magnesium. Both peanuts and chocolate are high in them. And it is no accident that those are pms craving foods.

Thank your body for being so smart to be able to tell you what it needs

Twinkies must be alternated with Hostess chocolate cupcakes in order to reach their full potential. Thats why amazon sells combo boxes of them.

In other news, h & I are headed out to go dishwasher shopping. Current dishwasher has been slowly failing over the past year and we've kept putting off buying a new one, like it doesn't dry anymore at all, the top spinner thingie fell out and won't hook back in, etc and last night when I tried to start it, I had to finagle the button a few times before it finally worked. They have one of the models I like on sale right now ($330 off!) at the local appliance place we like, so it's time!!
