But most ppl don't seem to get akathisia on it. How does risperdal effect u?

Yeah I'll let you know.

Risperdal, oh God that med was a nightmare for me. I didn't gain weight but I was sleeping 20 hours a day and just totally nonfunctional on it. I was a zombie. It didn't work for my psychosis either. It sucked because it's one of the few meds that didn't make me gain weight.

Risperdal works for me great. It kinda makes me hypo. But if I go above 1mg a day I'm really hungry.

I really hope the latuda works for you. Dark depressions are the worst. Well idk mixed states suck too.

Yeah that akathisia, I felt like I was gonna fall through the bus. Then I felt like I HAD to move. Then like the bus was closing in on me. It sucked getting it out in public.

I'm so glad the risperdal works for you. Seems to be a fairly effective med for a lot of people.

Thanks. I haven't been this depressed in a LONG time, I'm usually more on the manic side so I don't have as many coping skills for depression. Mixed states, god I hate those SO much.

Akathisia is my personal devil. I can so relate to how bad it feels.

Honestly I think the fact that he is a male will be good for you...you have a much better relationship with your dad than your mom so if you develop transference it is likely to be less volatile. The fact that you want to go back to this woman after what she did to you sort of reminds me of the fact that you keep talking to your mom when she is being a jerk to you. The thing with the T though is she is nothing to you....you deserve better....plus this dude said something like 40 years of experience right...so he's way old don't worry about an attraction...

Newtus: I agree with SometimesP about the therapist. Everything she said makes perfect sense. I'm sorry you're paranoid.

I'm doing ok today. Struggling to focus but otherwise not terrible.

I wishI was home watching Netflix.

My mind is not intact enough today for the 2 weeks behind in work I'm working.

Well it's not as bad today I guess but That one mean nurse is making life hard on everyone so it's put my paranoia in full swing I don't want to have any trouble today. She acts like she owns the place and the other nurses don't seem to like her either. she is so self righteous.
So Im in fear of saying or doing anything that would get me restrained, taken to my room..or
placed under a 24 hour watch.

@ SometimesPsychotic (And everyone else), I'm learning basic genetics for my last topic in grade 12 biology and I have to do a presentation on genetics in relation to disorders so I picked schizophrenia because it seems pretty obvious that there's a genealogical component in relation to environmental factors. Something like 55/45%. My previous presentation was on prenatal methamphetamine exposure which can lead to schizophrenia and other disorders so I thought ya..

You seem to know a lot about this stuff so I'm just asking like what specific genes (because there's thousands so just in general) are they? I've found genes like DISC1, DISC2, COMT, etc. Just a few paragraphs on what you know such as statistics on generations etc would be really helpful. I disabled private messaging but no one cares if I post here I'm sure.

The more I look at it, It seems like people are just getting it through psychological stress and environmental factors such as abuse etc. It is genetics that are involved but idk I might have to change the disorder but I've gone too far into it now and I'm good at researching..

Btw the info on deterioration in grey matter seems helpful as well because that's what these genes lead to when activated I think.

Thanks

It does suck that people think that because it's 99% to do with protection of self.. Most people that I've talked to with schizophrenia are really down to earth and are the least likely to want to cause harm.

But then again it could be referring to psychopaths..

we cant get away from media perception but we can guide it to try and fix what schizophrenia and psychosis is perceived as. i personally wouldnt recommmend NAMI. sorry if anyone likes them but they are "pro" a lot of things that are just not helpful to those with the disorder.

i'm struggling a lot right now, honestly. i'm having a lot of trouble feeling like i will ever fit in here or that everyone here hates me already because i'm a pathetic loser who can't do anything right.

i'm so sorry i'm such a jerk.

on top of that i've been struggling a lot with just mostly apathetic to everything around me or being way too sensitive to certain things. it's becoming a legitimate issue because of my going back to work next friday. i'm not sure i'm able to but i can't afford to take any more time off.

sorry to bring everything down and make it all about me. i tend to do that.
