I ate the brussel sprouts and I feel a lot better. I didn't know that getting off this anti depressant would turn me into a kinda healthy eater. I'm not sure if organic mac and cheese is all that healthy but I plan on making some tommorow.

]@ Tart Cherry Jam I hope you feel better! I am pretty much recovered from that sinus infection I had.

I did a LONG power walk this morning, I think because I knew today would be stressful. H is at work, and we are having extensive pipe & foundation work done on the house. We've got 6 or 7 guys here digging, electrical cords plugged all over the house, most of the diggers only speak Spanish other than the foreman who speaks English as well. It's noisy and stressful having strangers in and out of your house. We are using a reputable company; they did foundation repair on the house before we bought it and gave us a lifetime warranty on it, and they have a plumbing section as well to replace pipes. We have a drain in the master bathroom sink we cannot use because the pipe has rusted through (house built in the 1960s), and pretty much all the pipes are iffy. It's costing a ton of money, but we just can't afford any more rusted spots as this is the 2nd one in just 6 months.

My doctor said I looked different today. In a good way. I wonder if quitting fast food and most junk food and red meat helped. I lost 4 pounds since my last appointment.

He does want me to lose a lot more though. So he suggested the medietterian diet. I'm already eating a lot of that stuff so I don't think it will be terribly hard.

@Tart Cherry Jam Thanks for explaining what yin yoga is about. That sounds like a great way to stretch and enhance your flexibility! You've been killing it with exercise lately; how are you doing with your weight loss?

I lost a bit more weight this morning. I’m pleased. It’s slow progress but hey it’s not a sprinting race. Hopefully I’ll be at my goal weight by the time my fiancé and I elope!

I am hypomanic. I had three hours of high quality sleep last night, woke up at 2 am from hunger and... Has been awake ever since. It is almost 10 pm.

It was all fun and I was suddenly super engaged, effective and passionate at work. I bet people did not understand why I was suddenly in every convo, exuberant and getting things done in a split second.

Now I am tired of it and need to quash hypomania before it becomes something worse. And it is not fun anymore. I want to be asleep already. I am not sleepy but I want to be asleep

This night, I will be using Thorazine as a rescue medicine, a PRN.

Alas, I now suspect that the sudden drop in daily calories over the past two weeks might have been due not to a higher dose of Naltrexone but to starting hypomania. Time will show

This morning I had a smoothie and a can of unsalted kidney beans. Lunch will be a mixed greens salad with feta cheese and italian dressing and dinner will be a cup of whole wheat pasta. I'll also have a pack of unsalted almonds for a snack

I already did my 500 reps with.my ab roller.

@Tart Cherry Jam So sorry about the hypomania. I hope the thorazine helps you sleep. It's terrible when your body is physically exhausted but you still can't fall asleep.

As for me, I did a gentle pilates video this morning, felt great afterwards.

It did! Oura shows that it took about 17 minutes to fall asleep last night. Not too bad. Then I woke up once at about 4AM to pee (and was not hungry!), then again at 8:45 AM, seemingly well-slept but with bad orthostasis, so bad that I could not even reach for my phone, which is in my bed, to change from music to the virtual event I was supposed to attend. I then apparently fell asleep, waking up a little bit just enough to try to reach for the phone, but finding it impossible. I ultimately woke up shortly before 1PM, completely fine and with very little remaining lightheadedness. Got up, went about my day, did some short but important work-related tasks, paid the IRS (today was the deadline to pay taxes for 2024), performed some other financial management tasks, went to personal training and had an amazing session (it helps to be well-slept), followed by 30 minutes of light cardio on a recumbent elliptical, listened to a webinar about long term care planning (likely I am uninsurable, but it was still useful to learn about it), did light grocery shopping, ate a little bit and will eat more, and then I will work for some time, and then I will go to bed....

... taking Thorazine again, except a smaller dose.

Yesterday I took 50 mg at bedtime and then 10 mg more at 4AM. I ended up sleeping 12 hours net. This is clearly too much, but the good thing, I did not wake up depressed. I know that when I try to force sleep by taking too much of Zyprexa and Seroquel, I then experience brief depressive mood next day because I overdid antimanic agents. Not so with Thorazine.

I want to test the hypothesis that on Thorazine, I won't need to eat in the middle of the night. I hate nighttime eating syndrome as it greatly disrupts my life. If Thorazine can give me the experience of almost sleeping through the night (a brief awakening to pee once per night is normal), I will take the hepatotoxicity that Thorazine caused in the past. I know that it is reversible, and it was not that bad. My liver enzymes went up, but they were not crazily high. We have to consider risks and benefits and make trade-offs, right?

Even if it does not work as a maintenance drug, it is great to know that it will be available as an infrequent PRN, a rescue medicine to nip hypomania in the bud.

So: this past night and morning: 12 hours of net sleep.

The night before: 3 hours.

I had 2 acai bowls for breakfast. They gave me heartburn and I'm out of Tums and my pepcid didn't work fast enough
Possible trigger:
I had a couple pieces of whole wheat bread to settle my stomach and that worked so I was able to do my 500 reps workout.

I have a pack of almonds next to me for a mid morning snack. Lunch will be a salad. And dinner will just be beans. I ordered the 2025 Mediterranean diet cookbook from Amazon yesterday. So that will give me ideas on what else I can eat and cook.

@Tart Cherry Jam I am so glad you were able to sleep. I don't know what I'd do without Seroquel and when I get manic even that stops helping.

I took an extra long power walk today which is because I'm still stressed, still having the pipeline work being done. Also, this morning, I had a pretty scary fall. I hadn't even started my walk, but I forgot about all the dirt piles and shovels lying around the way I normally walk out of the driveway and tripped on a dirt pile. I'm okay though I think I bruised my left hand from the bottom of the thumb to the wrist (thankfully I am right-handed, but tasks where I use my left hand normally (such as pouring laundry detergent in the the washing machine, using the soap pump when washing my hands, etc.) are a bit on the painful side. I have a large bruise on my upper right thigh. And though I felt the fall in my hip, I don't think I injured it, fingers crossed I don't wake up tomorrow with my hip hurting. I will be glad when things are back to normal after all this house work is done.

I'm right around my 1500 calorie goal. And then like half an hour of working out. I had some kale and pita chips for dinner. Which wasn't great. Bu I'll figure out legit meals tommorow when my stomach isn't bugging me so much.

I’m finding snacking on grapes so satisfying! I’ve bought grapes from 3 different stores and I’ve found the best store today. Not too crunchy. Juicy and fresh.

I think I overdid it on the working out today. I couldn't figure out my issue until now. But its this pain right in the middle of my stomach where I work out the most when I'm doing my ab roller. 500 reps is too much according to my mom. My mom brought pizza home and I don't have any desire to eat any.

Hello exercise friends - I’ve missed you!

@Blueberrybook I’m sorry to hear about your fall, how are you doing?

Almost 3 weeks after my horrible faceplant on the pavement I finally got out for a run. I didn’t actually replace my wrecked running tights as it’s warm enough for three quarter length ones now.

Oh boy I’ve lost fitness, it felt weird just running, definitely an effort, plus of course I was concentrating so hard on the ground and making sure my arms were ready in case I did trip. But it wasn’t too bad, I went on my 6k route but stopped at 5k as my body said enough.

I’m here, I did it, I didn’t trip, my face is intact lol.

@Discombobulated - Thanks, I am mostly okay other than a super large bruise on my upper right thigh going into the pelvic bone and down there if you know what I mean. My left knee has a largish bruise, much smaller than the other one. The worst is my left hand that I bruised under the thumb and into the wrist. I think I may have a slight strain in the wrist and I need to see what we have in the way of ace bandages. I cannot do things like hold my water cup with my left hand, flush the toilet with my left hand, I have discovered you do use your non-dominant hand for a lot of things!

Because of the fall, there is no practicing planks because my left hand cannot bear the weight. Today would normally be a pilates day, but again my pilates videos have a lot of weight bearing on the hands and even on one hand at times, so I went for a walk. Did my normal 7.2 mi route, I have to be sure to eat extra snacks today to make up for the calorie burn. I'm at a point where maintaining my current weight is pretty cruical.

My mediterrinean diet cookbook came today. It has some interesting and easy recipes. Theres this cold navy bean salad and also feta cheese green beans I'm going to make. And tomato and mozzerella slices drizzled with olive oil or something.

I've never cooked. I always just headed for a fast food drive thru. But my doctor on Monday told me I need to get my **** together so I'm listening.

What a wonderful new initiative! Mediterranean is a great diet to start learning to cook with. Enjoy both the process and the work product.
