HUGS @SummerTime12 People do get sick out of nowhere, especially with stomach viruses. When I was a manager, I appreciated people letting me know, no matter how little the time given. BTW, if people had stomach viruses, I requested that they please stay home. I hope you can rest and you feel better soon. HUGS Kit

Hugs, Summer. I hope you feel better soon. You didn't do anything wrong in calling your boss. Assuming you're generally a reliable employee, she'd have no reason not to believe you.

![]() You really will get something from reading it. Just my opinion but children need to feel like they're special and that they matter. I've wanted the same thing with R before and it makes sense to me - I'm guessing she was quoting either the bit about why the rose was important or the fox.

![]() You've made the right choice in staying home where you would be a bit more comfortable and not risk spreading it to others. I've just read a chapter on infectious diseases- they can come out of nowhere. Make sure you're drinking water. Send H out to get you some dioralyte sachets from the pharmacy. Not sure if they would be called the same thing they're also called rehydration powder- the pharmacy people would know. If you get a fever please see a doctor as soon as you can.

As an immune compromised person I thank anyone for keeping germs at homes, especially the stomach kind. I think you did the right thing Sumertime, you were being courteous

I went on a cleaning spree, but lost the berserker-rage after about an hour. If you don't look under the bed or in that particular corner, it's very clean! Tomorrow is another day, I might finish it then.
Hugs for all the couches who work too much or are hurting. Head-nods to the non-huggers. I'm staying up until the clothes finish washing, throwing them in the dryer, and passing out. Have a great evening couch! |

I dont know what happened while i was out for half an hour but i came home and the dogs were huddled together on the dining table and the cats had crammed themselves into the hidey hole in the cat tree. Took 20 minutes to persuade the cats out. Everyone is outside and dont seem keen to come inside. I am wondering if it was a snake? Cant see any snakes good thing i used to be a reptile rescuer if i do find it i can catch it.

Bcm, just reading that makes my hair stand on end! Is it related to your being gone? How often do you have snakes???!!

Its the first time its happened. I have lived here 2 nearly 3 years now and have never seen a snake in this area but we are in a drought and it is breeding time so they will be looking for breeding partners and water.

The 4 year old kicked the infant and knocked him flat on the back of his head. I texted his mother and I put him in his room until I hear back from her. I don’t know what to do with this. The infant touched a toy his was playing with and the 4 year old just kicked him down. I need to leave. I don’t have the training to handle this child.

No one, including his parents, seems to have the training to handle that kid. It isn’t just you, Jersey. You’re not failing at anything.

I don't think you have been happy about taking this job since the start. Is it time to start looking for another job? Not liking it seems to be wearing you down.
The 4 yr old is acting like a challenging 4 yr old it seems to me (I didn't spend much time at it, but I worked for a couple of years working at pre-kindergarten day care to earn money for law school). He can't, of course, be allowed to hurt the baby -but I do feel for him. Adults can get upset when someone touches their stuff - hopefully they don't punch -but resentments build etc.

This is true. I just don’t know what to do right now. Luckily the baby is okay because he hit the carpet. It could have been a lot worse if he would have hit the hard wood floor. Also where he kicked him on his body was right on his rib cage. The baby is like 18lbs and 40lb almost 5 year old drop kicked him. I’m living him in his room. I have to protect the baby.

My sister was older and there were toy-touching issues. She got physical once. She was then allowed no toys for 24 hours and since it was near Christmas my parents held back the present she wanted most until her birthday a few weeks later.
She never got physical again. Yelled, yeah, but it had clicked in her head violence wasn’t acceptable. Something like that needs to happen for this kid, especially since I think he attacked the baby before. Maybe tomorrow will bring answers. If the job is causing or worsening your recent depression and anxiety you might want to move on anyway. Just don’t think you failed. ![]() |
