I think I was hypomanic at the time thanks to my steroid inhaler, it seemed like a good idea at the time...

I've not given up smoking yet, I was trying but getting nowhere so decided just to wait a while before trying again.

Yes they are disturbing thoughts. I'm not a violent person, I've never been in a real fight in my life & avoid confrontation wherever possible. It just seems to be the case that when I get intensely paranoid thoughts where I think others are going to harm me, I start imagining how I would stop them...

I've been off meds for just over a month now I think, I would say this was an isolated incident & was mostly fuelled by obvious behaviour. I'm not really worried that it'll crop up again... it's not like the thoughts came because of some vague notion, the girls were definitely looking over my way.

In the back of my mind I guess it may have crossed my mind that they might have thought I looked interesting. The thing is I think I'm self-conscious & am inclined to think negatively when I see people looking. There was a time when I always took it as a good sign but not in the past few years. It's a cognitive thinking error really, assuming things or fearing the worst of situations.

I'm not really sure what I thought their motives were but I saw it as a personal affront. It just seemed to me there was no way they were doing it for good reasons & must have had some ulterior motive.
Have you had cbt? It can help with some of those cognitive errors. I'm kind of a huge fan of cbt

No, I did talk therapy when my anxiety was bad that did involve some worksheets that had CBT stuff on them but never did CBT itself. I guess I've always assumed my problems were never severe enough to warrant doing CBT...

I will admit it does sound interesting though & would definitely be something I would consider doing should these things ever become bothersome.

Actually I was just thinking, you can get CBT workbooks on Amazon can't you... do you know of any good ones, I see there is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy For Dummies... there may be more academic style ones out there though too.

Loial my feelings about people looking or watching me also tend to vary depending on my mood, i know how that goes and when unhappy it is not fun. ive pretty much got past it now though i hope you can find some way of managing it so it doesnt bother you as much. i wish i could offer some suggetions but my delusions of grandeur is what sorted most of it for me

I got one called "Thoughts and Feelings: Taking Control of Your Moods and Your Life, 4th edition

It uses CBT techniques for relaxation, overcoming phobias/anxieties/ controlling anger, and lots of other stuff

Thanks. Just looked that one up... not got many reviews at all but they seem good.

The Dummies one is only £7.99 but that one is £17.99... think I'll probably go for the Dummies one being as it has a lot of good reviews & it's much cheaper.

The reason I picked the one I got is because my therapist at the time used the same book, I'm sure the other one is good too.

Here is a recipe that the last therapist who ran our group used to make and bring in on holidays, it's so good:

What's everyone up to?

I was watching The Tale of Princess Kaguya but my concentration is wandering... guess I'll finish watching it another night.

Decided in the end to get the book you have Blue_Bird on kindle which was cheaper & because it had a lot of reviews saying it's good for professionals as well as the public. Will probably start reading through it now.

Hey Loial! Just sitting here uninterested while my fiancee watches the new Mission Impossible. I want to like Tom Cruise, but I just can't get over the fact he's bats_it insane in real life.

Anyone any exciting plans for the weekend?

Yeah he is a pretty weird guy IRL but he's good at acting & that's what you see in the movies, so easy enough to put it aside for the sake of a good film!

I actually really enjoyed the new Mission Impossible... you should watch it properly, you never know... you might enjoy it!

Not got any plans at all for the weekend. Just more days of the week really.

I'm so scared about the clinic. I haven't called yet and he's not going to give me any prescriptions unless I go! I'm so afraid! I'm sorry I'm repeating myself but I meant to call. I think it's too late today now. I'm too scared by life. I just wish it were over. Seriously would rather die than have to go anywhere.

Have you tried any kind of therapy? It can really be helpful
