Went to Denny's for breakfast. Had 2 slices of toast, pancakes, and hash browns.

I felt nauseous, so I had to take my food to go. I think the nausea came from me taking my meds on an empty stomach.

I FINALLY got my veggie chili going!

Red bell peppers
Black beans
Red kidney beans
White beans
Chili powder
Vegetable stock
Louisiana Hot Sauce for a zing
Onion
Cumin
Salt
Crushed tomatoes m
Fresh garlic cloves

Breakfast: Oatmeal with strawberries, bananas, and pecans. Didn't need any sugar--yay!
Lunch: leftover Southwest stew. Still spicy, yowsa.
Dinner: Hearty Turkey Chili. Would've had something else but daughter was home and she's picky. Less picky than years previous, but still picky.

Blood sugar was normal, so that was good. Hopefully all the fiber will lower my cholesterol some.

Once a month I go out of town to work at an assisted living facility.
There is only a mcdonalds close by..so....I usually eat a grilled chicken patty glass of milk and an oatmeal.
Today I had a grilled chicken salad and an extra chicken patty.
I did not use any salad dressing.
no milk or oatmeal.
sigh
I LOVE THEIR OATMEAL....
It has a gazillion carbs.
since I am trying to limit my carbs to only 60 a day...I can not afford to eat something that has 30 carbs or more.
I have to say though that I was thinking about my favorite beer that has 30 carbs in a glass.
but instead came home and drank a bottle of wine for 20 carbs.
Hubby and I went for a walk in the neighborhood, 2 miles so that was good.

sigh
I just read in 2 different articles that the oil we have been using to cook with is bad for us.
Grape seed oil....
I switched to it a few years ago when a friend of mine told me it had a high smoke point and that it was safe for cooking at high temperatures.
What he failed to tell me and I should have researched it myself is that is has a lot of omega 6's that are not good.
so back to olive oil for us.
sigh

Anyway, I ate oatmeal for breakfast today. Going to eat some chili for lunch. My sister made some cute cupcakes for the Super Bowl. They're Patriots themed

Going kayaking this afternoon as a protest to the super bowl.
Our husbands watch the game at a friends house. hubby is making low carb meatballs to bring.
we will go out to our usual diner for breakfast this morning. It will be an egg dish of sorts. Think I will stick to my stand by.
3 scrambled eggs with spinach and a side of black bean salsa heated up and spread on top, with some hot sauce. Yummy!
I will forgo the side of brocolli as I had that last night for the quiche which came out very good!
Have a great day yall!

2 cups of coffee with half and half and stevia...2 carbs, 80 calories
Brunch at the diner:
3 eggs scrambled with a cup of spinach covered with 2/3 cup of black beans and 1 cup of steamed broccoli. 26 net carbs and 515 calories. 2017 New diet thread, come join!

Think I will start keeping an eye on both net carbs and calories.

Going out to eat with a friend after kayaking. They serve huge portions here and I am a clean your plate kind of gal.

I've kind of lost my motivation a little bit, which always happens to me on diets. So I ate a bunch of candy and pizza last night and I drank a lot. Wine and rum. When I weighed in yesterday I was 200 even. So that's a total of 12 pounds lost in a month. I kinda was like well what do I need to lose weight for anyway I'm just gonna eat whatever I want it's easier. But then I thought about my clothes not fitting and I decided to keep going. I don't have to get down to 130 again if I don't want to. But I really do want to get back down to 175 so my clothes will fit comfortably again. So I'm back on track today.

I made chicken salad for lunch and ate it with Granny Smith apple wedges and with cucumbers/green onions/plain Greek yogurt mix. It was good.

For dinner, I will eat buckwheat with butter, drink hot broth, and have leftover asparagus with mayonnaise. And, lots of hibiscus tea.

Don't call yourself names.
I am not sure what you mean by this.
Do you mean spending extra money?
YOu could gain some weight from what you have reported.
You need to eat 500 more calories a day for a week to gain a pound.
(3500 calories is a pound)

steak and chicken fahitas at chueys.
small amounts of pico, shredded cheese, sour cream, onions, peppers, guacamole, very good and filling.
gave the rice and beans to my friend.
So it was fairly low carb....not going to do the math. Too many calories and don't have the motivation to count.

We had a nice day at the lake, which is really a swamp ont heout side and an open lake in the middle.
Kayaked for an hour, walked around the lake for an hour. nice time, the weather was wonderful.
Only had small amounts of water trickle onto me from the paddles, not too too bad.
Hubby made meatballs for the super bowl party. He texted me and said they were just fair. That he would not make them for us, so that was disappointing for him.

I've been following the thread with interest, thank you for starting it, Bizi. I have about 50-60 lbs of med/depression/insomnia weight to lose. I've been trying on my own, but I keep floundering, not sure what sort of eating plan I want to do, plus taking far too much comfort and pleasure in overeating.

I've been increasing my activity with a regular strength training/yoga routine, plus a bit of elyptical, and a bit of walking and doing more housework. But my obese state makes exercise difficult, I get joint pain and fatigue quickly. I know I really need to be making changes to me diet in order to feel better.

Does anyone have any thoughts on Weight Watchers? It seems like a sensible program, and I thought the outside structure and company of other people might help me out a bit.

Don't know if anyone has any advice about this, but I am constantly starving!!!! I'm starving right now. Besides eating more, does anyone have an idea of what I could do?

Has anything changed like amount or type or food you eat, or exercise...or meds? If you have eaten enough and don't need to eat more I find things like apple cider vinegar help suppress my appetite or a tea called Rubus (it's South African).

I started sit-ups five days ago. 20x two different types. Already seeing some muscle forming so that is encouraging. Just need to burn off the flab above it then I'm good

I don't mean to be blunt raspberry but honestly you're not eating enough. You've posted your food for awhile and it's just not enough. That's why you're constantly starving. If you're not willing to eat more than I would drink water to help with the hunger. Also eating healthy fat keeps you fuller longer.

Thanks for the advice! I'll buy some apple cider vinegar.

I've been going to the gym for awhile now. I recently cut out bread and things like potatoes and rice. Bread because I want to avoid those carbs, and the white stuff because I read an article about how those things make you gain weight and are bad the older you get, and I'm not exactly young anymore. I've been trying to limit my calorie intake.

I already don't eat dairy or meat.

My meds haven't changed and I've been on them for awhile now.

So I don't understand this. I want to eat a buffet. Maybe I'm pregnant. Just kidding.

You sound like my husband.

I totally pigged out yesterday.

I'll try drinking water. And I'll try eating more peanut butter, like have it with a banana.

Thanks for the advice!
