Glad your getting things done, Its a hassle at times

Any specialist I need to see is 1.5 hours away , so I understand that struggle

@wildflowerchild25 hooray for getting an appointment for Monday! My home bp monitor showed high bp a great deal of the time but the last time I saw a doctor it was fine. (I'm on meds for high bp.)

Anybody listen to the president tonight? He gave a short talk on the virus and what the US is doing about it.

Nope. If he comes on a channel I'm watching I turn the channel. He's such a lier and con man that I don't believe a word he says.

If I recall correctly, he initially said the coronavirus was a biological weapon of mass destruction created by China to cripple the American economy. Now that this "theory" has been disproved (because why the hell would China release a biological weapon on their own people?), it's now the democrats' "secret weapon" to prevent him from getting re-elected. LOL! And if any democrat denies his theory, it's FAKE NEWS.

I didn't know there was an original tv show...or do you mean the novels? Unfortunately, I've never read the novels, so I'm not sure just how accurate this tv series is, but it first aired end of 2019.

Also, that's great news from your T. I wish the T I had could've given me specific coping strategies...and write them down!! Good for you!

I thought there was a tv series in the late 70s, but now I doubt my memory. I'll have to do some research to satisfy my confusion now.

There was a Nancy Drew on before, along with the hardy boys. It might have been the 70's. I think so. That one was sort of ok but the new one has nothing to do with the original Nancy Drew. It's some werid alternative world. I had high hopes as I loved the books, but no this is a werid none remake.

Hardy Boys bring back my early teens. I read all of the novels, and many of Nancy Drew. Both were written mostly by one person. It was a mass writing house occupied by many writers that cranked out many different novels , all under under pseudonyms. Anyway, I worked five hours today. It surprisingly went quickly, I have been playing with my antique, trying to clean them up unsuccessfully. Not in any way that would devalue them. I cannot afford to purchase more anytime in the near future,

I have a wacky, manipulative coworker. She claims the boss was looking for me because she could not find out I was sick in the restroom. This was all false, but as a consequence , she did get me to tell her where I was. She also tries to get others to tell her what they are doing. They tell her to ****** off. She tells them it is her business to know. I heard the entire conversation from my radio. I asked her later about this, and she told me she was just kidding. I do not know about this lady, but I do not trust her at all.

BTW I am thinking of bleaching my hair and beard to make myself look like my alter ego, What di all of you think?

Yesterday, I wrote about a number of major decisions for people in my area in regards to COVID-19. This morning there were more people diagnosed with it in my town, and a couple from Pennsylvania that have it because of attending a party in my town in NJ. I am now wondering if my psychiatrist will decide to cancel/postpone his trip to Europe that he planned in April, given what Trump said last night about preventing travel from Europe into the US for 30 days. Perhaps the timing would work out for my pdoc, but what if Trump extended it? My pdoc and his wife would be stuck in Europe. That would be just marvelously grand, huh?

I do need to go to the grocery store today. I'm thinking of doing a bit more stocking up, considering. I do have a hair appointment later this morning. I'll be extra careful there. As I wrote yesterday, even they sent a notice about their safety measures. We certainly don't want our entire town closed down (save supermarkets and pharmacies) like they are in some parts of Italy. Speaking of pharmacies, I picked up my two prescriptions from my now "old" pharmacy yesterday before setting up at a different one, because of my old one now being "out of network".

Ugh, so we need a new stove. The other night the burners wouldn't work and we had something in the oven and out of nowhere the whole thing just turned off until my dad jiggled it. Then, last night we tried making homemade pizza but as we were preheating the oven something smelled so we unplugged it. It's not even that old. I think mice were chewing on the wires because there's a bunch of mouse scat behind there.

I'm still feeling a little speedy but not as bad as yesterday. It took forever for me to fall asleep but I didn't wake up that early. Gonna go for a walk now.

I don't think we have any coronavirus cases in the area where I live, but who knows... some people are probably carrying it and are asymptomatic (for now).

If you do go grocery shopping, wipe down your products with a sanitizing wipe or hand sanitizer. I saw some people a few weeks ago who were coughing in their hands and touching items on the shelf and then putting the items back. Gross!

I am sure they didn't have coronavirus, but the fact people do that s*** is worrying.

I wish our country was like japan, where it is socially unacceptable to cough in public without a mask.

Well, now my work officially wants us to stay at home for the next 30 days because of the coronavirus. They are shutting down the building temporarily. However, I work from home most of the time, so this doesn't really impact me. But at least I have an excuse for not dragging my @ss to work

Anyways, doing alright. Had a therapy appt yesterday and it went okay. I wasn't raging mad anymore.

Have to practice the guitar now... I hope I can do better.

That's a good suggestion, bluebicyle! The last time I went shopping I did wipe down the cart handle and my hands (going in and out), but not products. And I have also seen coughers like that. Even my dad. I told him to cover his mouth, but doubt he'll listen. As for washing hands, I am very good about that.

If it gets worse, people will start wearing gloves and masks. We have many plastic and latex gloves, but only a small number of masks and they are more the type you use when sanding wood vs virus protection.

There are a lot of people at the salon, but they said many are people who are taking advantage of cancellations.

Today is most definitely not better. I stumbled into work 2.5 hours late. Made it half an hour before breaking down in front of the manager about how bad my mental health has been these past few days. I did also tell him I am in the process of transitioning. He seemed to be very understanding of everything and luckily I still have a job. I am at home now eating Taco Bell and wallowing.

I saw both my NP and therapist this week. Good reports from both except for sky high anxiety which we’ll try to treat with Klonopin instead of the usual Xanax.

I’m thinking of going to a movie early this afternoon when the theater isn’t crowded. There are 7 cases of the virus in my state and none in my city. I’m still going to carry Lysol disinfectant wipes with me and wipe everything down including my hands. I also have errands to run including the dreaded Costco. Good times.

My daughter’s university told them not to come back for three weeks after Spring Break and to transfer to online classes. I agree with their actions plus I’ll get to see more of her so that works out nicely.

Warm regards to all and hugs to those that are struggling.

I am sick either still or again. I’m wondering if that is why my heart rate is so high. I was worried I could have Coronavirus but my symptoms don’t match. I never had a fever, I don’t have a sore throat or a runny nose. I have congestion in my nose and a wet cough. I am going to my pcp today so I’ll see what he says. I’m going to wear a mask when I get there to not spread whatever I may have. I hope I don’t have to quarantine out of necessity. I would be so screwed financially

My case manager about the food stamps called but I missed the call. So I called back and left a message and I'm waiting for her to call me again.

I am 99.9% sure the speech he gave was designed based on his thoughts and motives. Speech writers analyze the thinking, policies, and motives of the people they write speeches for. He would also read it in advance and approve it (and make additions or other changes). He is also well-known to add words off the cuff or go off on his own tangents. For example, did the speech writer refer to the virus as the "foreign virus" that invaded the US? Or did Trump, himself, add the word "foreign" as a means to vilify the Chinese, and further strengthen his nationalistic stance, as he does with people who try to cross the southern border? He's quite clear that they are "invaders" and he clearly portrays most as horrible people (i.e. "rapists and criminals"). He was clearly nervous about the speech. You could tell by all of his sniffing, snorting, and gasping sounds, throughout.

The unilateral decision of his to prevent Europeans from entering the US, for at least the next 30 days, definitely shocked the Europeans (see Trump suspends travel to US from 26 European countries for 30 days over coronavirus). He should also have known that that would cause harm to the world economy. It further strengthens his "keep them out" policy, which much of his base loves. This nationalistic approach is one strategy he is using to shift the focus away from the fact that the US is grossly unprepared and poorly handling this health crisis. Part of the lack of preparation stems from his decision, early in his time in office, to strip the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of vast amounts of funding. I'm not sure where that money was reallocated. The southern border wall (that Mexico was supposed to pay for)? The tax breaks for the rich? Anyway, he doesn't want to look weak or as if he's making mistakes, because that would hurt his reelection chances. His reelection is his highest priority. He's also scared about the US economic downturn and already considering steps for bail outs for the oil industry (see Oil industry push for Trump bailout draws political headwinds - POLITICO). You know, the oil industry is his friend. He don't like no "Green energy"! Of course he doesn't personally bail them out. The US taxpayers do, as the US taxpayers are the ones paying for the southern border wall additions.

I think there have been times when he has read off content he didn't fully like. In those cases, subsequent tweets or follow-up speaking opportunities allowed him to voice his differences.

I've decided to add some bonus reading:
