A bit of estimation on dinner portions; I doubt I am far off. If I am accurate, it's another day right about 1500.

EDIT - a little nervous about tomorrow's weigh in; dinner was the kind of meal that feels heavy and causes a bit of water bloat.

This is a 2300 calorie day. My weight is 180. I will see tomorrow if my weight remains that way. My protein was very low, so I made a banana whey shake. That gave a good boost in protein even though I still came short. I want some 2100 calorie days to offset the above 2300 days I have had in the past. I will start out with a fruit smoothie with whey powder. The straining of yogurt over two days help where I end up with over a quarter cup of whey from about a cup of yogurt. For some reason the whey protien powder does not have the same flavor as the whey from yogurt.

PS I did not know there are two different types of whey. One gives a relatively quick boost of protien. The other takes effect over a longer period of time.

Where did you get this info? I have never heard of a "quick boost of protein".

Actually there are several types of protien powder. The two protien powders
I have are whey powder and casein powder. So technically, casein powder is used like whey powder but contains no whey but accomplishes the same result. One is just slower acting than the other. Some protien powders are the combination of the two. In the future, I will purchase hydrolysate protien powder just to try it out. You can read that article which describes the three protein powders that I have mentioned above and more. There are actually two different type of whey powder, whey concentrate, and whey isolates. This is what confused me. So even though I was technically correct that there are two different types of whey powder, I did not purchase both whey powders which I thought I did. Instead I purchased the two I have mentioned above.

PS By the way, it is difficult to find tasteless protein powders. Also you may be interested in looking up soy protien powder. It is known to boost the metabolism which is good for weight loss. This is at least what that article states.

Dinner:
WE shared a large order of ribs, I had 4 thai ribs, (jeff had 5 ribs) and a side of broccoli, some thai sugar beans and some salad.
very filling! oh and I forgot....sweet potato/pecan/bread pudding for desert, we shared.
The meal was fantastic!!!!
Our bill was only $28 plus a $6 tip and we still have money left on the gift card that I got today from a client. ya!

I only drank coffee and water today.

182.0!! The lowest weight I have seen so far. I am still losing, just at a slower pace. Registering a full pound less than two days ago.

EDIT - normally don't do tenths, but it is significant because when I saw 182 one morning several days back the tenths were higher. That morning I knew I was going to get a low weight because of timing. Today I feel like I am a little bloated so it was a nice surprise. I may start tracking tenths since my rate of loss is slower, but weight fluctuates enough to make them meaningless a lot of the time.

I weigh 179 today. So I think I gained some weight, perhaps a pound. My desserts and fat rich smoothies have been helping. I seem to get in one big meal a day, then much smaller meals for the rest of the day. Right now I am trying to keep the calorie count between 2000 and 2300. It looks like it is turning out to be a 2200 calorie day as long as I keep to my planned meals.

Hello everyone...I’m still working on eating healthier. Today was not a good day. I ate out twice. I started off ok for breakfast at 6:50 AM. By 10:30 AM I was starving and had several errands to run. I stopped for fast food. Then I picked my daughter up and needed to run more errands. We stopped for fast food. Then finished our last errand. It’s now dinner time and I’m already at 2,570 calories. Today was definitely not good.

This has been a 2100 calorie day. I had for dinner a small bowl of soup. I have run out of all of my desserts except for a couple peanut butter cookies. So I am not snacking much except for the remaining slice of banana bread and one cookie for today.

@Cocosurviving There will be better days. You were on the run today, so going to fast food is understandable. We are here to listen and help each other.

Another day around 1500. Actually my current goal is 1520. According to mfp, that's what I should eat to lose a pound a week. I came within 1 calorie of that goal today.

I still weigh 179 which is not too bad. I am trying to find the range of calories that I need to maintain my weight. I then will move my weight up to about 185. According to a calorie calculator, there is only a difference of a couple hundred calories between maintaining my current weight and a weight of 185. I find this a bit odd. Time should tell if this is accurate.

I get obsessed with food when I try to calorie count. But when I don't I eat too much! I can't win either way, it feels like. I know I should make the effort to watch my intake though, and exercise more. I just hate exercising so much.

I also do not like exersizing. I once liked taking very long walks, but my knees give me trouble. I have a free membership to LA Fitness, even within walking distance, but I have gone maybe a couple times over the year.

There's a gym next to my house. I still don't go. I keep thinking even if I just walk on the treadmill that's something, but I don't want to sign another contract and not do it.

My Rheumatologist just gave me another reason to lose weight.
She'd told me to become as thin as possible because extra fat on the body increases inflammation (via cytokines).

Gotta do it!

I need to get back to doing long walks. I will shortly; our pup is in "boarding school" for a few more days to get "heel" trained and socialized (he is a pit bull rescue and we are trying to be responsible owners). He will need to go a mile or two nearly every day to burn off energy. One of my sons is the nominal master, but I will end up doing a lot of the walking. I am looking forward to it (except when it is miserable out). I will not increase my calories for walking like I might for running or gym training; I will just lose slightly faster; maybe get to goal in March instead of April.

My hubby and I often share meals when we go out, as the serving portions are usually huge. We might order and extra salad/veggie. We both get plenty to eat!

My wife and I don't go out that much, but when we do we often order appetizers, each picking one, and maybe a soup or salad. Dinner portions are obscene in many restaurants. I was looking up chicken pot pie when my eldest made one a few nights ago and I had a slice and a half. O'Charley's chicken pot pie entree is 4 cups and ~1400 calories. There is still one more slice of what my son made that I might have tonight; I have about 700 to go for the day. I think with his recipe, that slice is around 400 to 500.

I don't know whats wrong with me. I either eat 1000 calories a day or I eat nothing all day. I'm terrified of gaining weight and obsessed with losing weight. The scale makes or breaks my mood for the entire day.

Since I'm not getting any replies here, I might just start a thread about it. I just need some advice and help. I have been diagnosed with OCD. That might be whats going on.

This sounds like you may have an eating disorder but I am no expert, talk to your doctor.
