PC seems slow today. Must find another mindless internet activity to help me forget what I'm supposed to be doing today.

What part of Lent was scary?

I think you've also talked about Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka being frightening. I've always loved it. But my grown son told me last night that he was really afraid of it. What I thought was funny - he thought was creepy. He told me it was all about "this guy letting little children kill themselves." I'd never thought about it like that! He kept talking about the details of what he thought of as each child's death. I guess I never related it to death. I thought of it as them taking themselves out of the race - but never thought of it as them dying. Anyway, it's interesting how different people perceive things. My son, by the way, is an intelligent and exquisitely sensitive soul.

Thanks couch for explaining why the church across the street has all this triumphant sounding music and and the parishioners are outside on the steps.

The music is outside. Sounds like a brass band. It's annual. Now I know what it's all about. I could've googled it just never thought to do so.

My kids brought palm branches home from church.. and promptly started hitting each other with them. Great.

I rarely use the ignore function. I think I might have someone on there. I forget and I'm too lazy to check.

The whole stations of the cross/gory stories and pictures and being told it was our fault.

Oh yeah... I get that. I'm not Catholic, so I forget about how that can be.

Ugh. Want to get out of bed. Can't seem to settle anywhere else. Keep playing musical chairs and end up back in bed. If the sun comes out, and the knee allows, I'm going for a walk.

Fortunately, that is not quite the approach we Lutherans take. It is very solemn, particularly Good Friday services, but the theological perspective is a bit less guilt-laden.

Spring is in full swing here in the Southern AZ desert. From this morning's hike:

Yeah, normalizing this stuff sets you up for a lifetime of abuse...

I love the AZ desert.

I also love dessert in AZ.

Because I live in the tundra and while spring is being a tease, there is snow on the ground and I'd rather be there than here.

It's beautiful now. Give it a few months. It'll be a searing cauldron of fire

Was looking at friends' pics on Facebook this morning and it's hitting me like a ton of bricks just how much I have lost because of the stbx. Friends, career, jobs, money, my house, my good name, self-respect, my confidence, my ability to interact with people without crippling anxiety...
One of my best friends in the world is getting married and my other best friend is her bridesmaid and I didn't even know.
Fuccking Basstard stole my life and I didn't even see it happening.

I have a friend coming to dinner.

My T recommended a box wine and I have never been one to consider a box wine.

I bought this box wine and the lady at the liquor store said it was their most popular brand. It sounds delicious.

I usually don't buy reds unless I know I'll have someone to share with and we'll drink the whole thing but apparently the stuff in a box lasts longer.

I selected a Malbec. We shall see. We shall see.
