When I had to go out last week as soon as we got home we jumped in the shower and all clothes went right into the wash..

I hope there is a way for your Mom to get this done with as small a exposure as possible
They are setting up a drive though for the next time she goes. It isn't set up yet. But the clinic was all but deserted. They've cancelled most appointments and there were very few people there. Most everyone had masks. But yeah I was nervous having mum go today. She has a sore throat but no other symptoms and wanted a doctor to check out her throat but they said she must get tested first. Then when the test is negative she can see the doctor for her throat!

The nurse gave mum a number to call about her sore throat. That will be interesting.
I left a reply before I saw this .. I am so glad they are having things set up so as to avoid exposure to anything in the hospital

Well My husband was bit by a tick at some point recently. We noticed it last night.. Its a classic tick bite.... Big ole Bulls eye *thud*

He started Doxicycline for a lung infection yesterday, I called the Doctor back today and as I expected he will now take it for 4 weeks as Doxicycline is the standard treatment.

I hope this takes care of yet another health issue.

Hugs and Love to all

Update: after two more nosebleeds, I bit the bullet and scheduled an appointment for tomorrow. Ironically, the assistant went down the list of each corona virus symptom and asked if I had it. I pointed out that at least 25% of the population that are infected have no symptoms. I’m going but if it looks hinky, I’m out of there. Wish me luck!

Ugh. You just reminded me, BirdDancer, of how embarrassingly often I still have trouble remembering to take the right medications in the right amounts at the right times. Ugh!!!

Also, just repeating what I've heard: the outbreak in China was suspected to have occurred back in October/November (*not* December), with the Chinese government allegedly trying to cover it up before admitting to it. However, it is now early April and China is seeing a great recovery. See here: China Coronavirus: 81,740 Cases and 3,331 Deaths - Worldometer

So... if we assume October was the date it started... then it's been 6 months since the coronavirus outbreak in China, and now China is mostly done with it. Approx 1200 people left (of the 80,000 people) and they've started taking down makeshift hospitals, as they do not need them anymore. I know that China had less cases than us, but just looking at the trends... I would say that 18 months sounds kind of like a gross overestimation. I think that's a fear mongering tactic spread about by the media. I would say that 6-8 months *from onset* (January) is far more realistic. So... sometime by July/August sounds more realistic.
Yes, well, I get that. But, the real kicker will be what happens in China now, since they are opening things back up and people are gathering in giant groups together. Seen the pictures? Crazy. Of course, that also assumes that they don't obfuscate and lie, as they did previously, about the real situation...

Italy was seeing a decline in cases shortly after they mandated a lockdown, but then the cases were increasing when they got rid of the lockdown. So I see your concern.

But even if China *did* have the number of cases rise after opening up again, I still do not think it will be 18 months. I think that is fear mongering at its finest.

Right now, the U.S. is locking down, and there are many professionals in academia who have made predictive models. For example, COVID-19

I'm sure we will see a small resurgence if we open up too soon, but I think the U.S. is handling it much better than Italy or Iran are/were.

The predictive models have been pretty on point so far, as I've been checking them everyday or every few days. As the virus changes, the predictive models' algorithms change, but the changes have been very subtle.

China may be lying about their total numbers -- who knows -- but they are taking down makeshift hospitals and now shipping millions of masks, thousands of ventilators, etc. to the U.S.. I do not think they would be giving up so many supplies if they felt there was a high risk of a large resurgence of cases.

AND the governor keeps saying he thinks the lockdown will go well into summer. I’m freaking out. I want to go hiking and to the beach and ****. Why couldn’t this have happened over the winter, when it was cold?

And I’m increasingly worried because I’ve also been reading that this could go on until a vaccine is developed. Like, we could stamp out the virus, but as soon as we loosen restrictions it pops up again and we go back into lockdown. This could potentially go on for 18 ****ing months.

The closing of the parks has tipped me over the edge. I want to see my family. I haven’t seen my grandparents since February (bc I got sick with that nasty sinus infection). Video chatting is nice but I need to see everyone in person.

I do have virtual therapy tonight, so I hope she can calm me down.
My husband has been having the same anger and frustration, since he heard. Same state.

We were regularly going to parks for walks, hikes, biking. It's sad that we'll be limited to streets and sidewalks. It gets boring going up and down our road. My husband is thinking of going to his company's main campus. They have walking trails. Since they aren't officially "a park", I hope they'd let us go there. There's also the university campus. That's lovely and somewhat park-like. I know you live somewhere not too far away from there.

I contacted my pdoc about the body pains I'm having from the depression. Wellbutrin was good for that but she stopped it when I had my sleep issues in November and December.

I asked her if I could start Wellbutrin again because it worked in the past and I didn't have sleep issues with it - it was the Mirapex that caused the sleep issues.

She agreed and is starting me on a low dose to see how it goes. I hope it works out.

If I could reduce these body pains I think I can cope with the depression...I have been so far, it'll make things easier if it does work.

I'm glad my son is home and he says he's happier too. He was all alone and working from home so it was bad for him. Now we're all together and he has the 3 of us to talk with.

If anyone is still awake in the USA and there is no cloud cover where you are, step out and take a look at the moon, if it is still out. Spectacular!!!

Today was ******
Possible trigger:
My sister is moving away, I have a ton going through my head right now. I want to flood the board with posts I filled a page of questions for my T already.

ETA: starting to wonder if I'm heading for an upswing I'm so "talkative".

Hey, it's 100% okay to make posts in this forum, even if you need to make many. Do what YOU need to do to feel better. People want to help.

Sorry to hear about your parents' desires. I know that must be difficult for you to cope with. My grandmother had a similar request in her will.

I'm doing alright. For some reason, though, I just keep waking up nauseous. It's been like this for weeks.

I'm not very productive with work these days. I'm super distracted with everything in my apartment. I wish I could get away from the distractions, but, alas, I'm stuck here...

I guess I'll ask my therapist for some advice on how to cope with distractions because I'm not doing very well with that right now. However, I'm sure that many of you are in the same situation, so I do not think I am alone in this.

I didn't see it because I fell asleep, but my sister took a pic of it and shared it in a group chat. It looked only slightly pink to me, but there was a huge glow.

Nammu, thanks for sharing about your mom's clinic visit. I'm glad she got to go. I've been wondering how some doctors offices are handling things during the pandemic.

My husband wants to delay his next eye appointment in Philly. He feels a bit wary about going, since he usually needs an injection in his eye. That place is usually a mad house with crowded waiting rooms. They sent him an email saying patients would check in and be asked to wait in their cars in the parking garage/lot. I have zero clue how they make that work! Since it's in downtown Philly, many patients likely go there by train/bus or taxi. Where do they wait? Many are elderly. The whole ordeal usually takes 2 hours as it is. Who knows, but I am sure many are delaying appointments. His eye specialist had a heart transplant. If I were that doctor, I really would avoid seeing patients.

That's strange. I agree it makes no sense to have people wait in their cars if most people do not have/use cars.

What they should be doing is limiting the number of appointments and removing chairs so that people are sitting 6 feet apart. For example, 2-3 appointments max at any one time. This way, only 2-3 people (plus a guest) can sit in the waiting room at any given time. That, to me, would make more sense. That's what the local Toyota dealerships around here are doing. Anyone else who comes early has to hang out outside. They only let people sit inside if their car is currently in for service.
