I like those food items that you have listed too. You are one of the most disciplined dieters that I have come across. You shed weight like clockwork. I have a few squares left of that large Hershey bar that my daughter brought me. This should last me at least a couple days or longer.

I have just received my activity watch. It is now being charged. I need to figure out how to use it. It has many features and modes of operation. Even a sport mode that has sub modes to it. So how am I going to figure out how to use it? There are only two types of button presses on the one single button it has. How am I going to access all of these fancy features in this way? I see it will take some figuring out. Maybe it can be controlled better from the iOS app that I have downloaded. I may have to wait until tomorrow for my first longer distance walk.

MFP calories 828. Apple Watch steps 4,147. Water intake 33.8. I was able to get out today and helped my daughter and her troop sale cookies. I’m still not 100% but I’m better.

I must say now, the thing actually works. I do not know how accurate it is. I think it is not accurate with the heart monitor. Now that I think about it, my resting bpm can be anywhere from 60 to 120. So maybe it is correct. I will check this out at that fitness place I sometimes go to. All I am interested in is steps and heart rate features. A record of this over time, like what is supported on my phone app, is a plus. This does so much like beeping when I get a message on my phone. I think this can even flush the toilet for me. I just have to keep looking for that feature. Oh yes, it also can work as a watch. LOL

I recommend this to anybody who diets intelligently, including to those who want to be physical fit. After all, that is what all of us are interested in, to be physically fit. This needs to include exersize. I will begin to document here my steps for each day, like those of you here who do the same.

Calories:1808 actual, 1648 logged for today. Steps:7567.

I went over by accident. I was looking this over and realized I didn't log my oatmeal this morning, so I added it. It was 160 and I was at 1648, so I am 158 over. But if you look at my report, it says 1648 and no morning oatmeal. That's because I pushed the forgotten oatmeal into tomorrow as a snack. So after tomorrow, I should be back on track.

I should have looked closer at nutrition info on the Asian spiced crab. Loaded with fat, cholesterol and sodium. Hopefully one misstep won't push my numbers back up much.

Here is the best approximation of my calories for the day. I ate dinner over at my ex’s. I had a few soft tacos for dinner instead of a pizza. I also ate a small portion of what was left of the cheesecake that I made for her. I come up with 1800 calories. Not good. I need to begin my meals earlier in the day. Heck, I need to begin my day at an earlier time of the day. Depression has caught up with me once again.

updown....
what is Pb2?
it sounds like a treat????
how do you cook your chicken?
I have been using coconut oil to saute my foods.
I am trying to cut back on my carb intake.
It is hard.
I have yet to get really serious about it. I thought that when I stopped drinking that the pounds would just fall off.
WRONG!

I need to start contributing to this thread regularly.

I don't need to lose weight, but I've been eating really badly lately and even working out less, which is really unusual for me.

I started a new job a month ago, so I know why things have changed, but I need to get back on track before things negatively impact my health.

I did work out Friday and Saturday, but skipped yesterday as the weather was legitimately terrible. (Well, as terrible as it gets in Oregon, which really isn't bad considering what some people get in winter.)

Thanks for your stories and all the inspiration!

I am going to try and get back to some type of healthy eating even while stuck in depression. I am the binge eating while depressed type. Stuffing myself sick with cookies and pie never makes me feel better but its what i do when im depressed every damn time. Summer is around the corner and if/when i lift this episode i dont want to be stuck with the depressed weight gain.
Im going to go for low carb because i do the best on that. If anyone has any tips on how to healthy eat while depressed let me know

PB2 is powdered peanut butter. It has 85% less fat than regular peanut butter. You can reconstitute it with water and spread it or mix it into shakes, yogurt, recipes, etc. Target has it. Scroll down in that listing and you will see there is also chocolate which I like. I didn't realize JIF is making powdered PB until I saw that listing. I have been getting the 1 lb jars at Amazon.

I usually marinate chicken and roast it. With some marinades, I may be under reporting slightly though sometimes I use a baked chicken entry on MFP that is more calories. 4 oz of skinless chicken breast is usually somewhere between 120 and 150 calories.

I got scale shock this morning - 169.4! That is a 2.2 pound jump up. I expected it to jump a little because I got way too much sodium, I purposefully drank a lot of water and I forgot to log something until late that put me over (but I rolled it forward into today so I will end up even tonight).

I am drinking a cup of coffee this morning for the first time in a couple of months. I was drinking way too much so I weaned myself off, switching to tea. But I keep seeing it on lists of things that seem to contribute to good health and long lives. The latest one did say one or two cups, so I will keep drinking tea at home and then just get one cup of coffee in the office.

Tempted to keep calories really low today, though I started with 160 that were really from yesterday which already puts the real max at 1490. Maybe tomorrow I will do a low calorie "fast" day.

Awful on steps on this rainy day. 1357 steps. I will have to do a long walk tomorrow. 1650 calories with 160 of them actually rolled forward from yesterday so that it evens it out. I still have half the orange I logged plus the Cheerios still to eat; I just weighed them out as a crunchy snack that's sitting on my desk.

I weighed this morning 183 pounds. I had 2100 calories today. I got in 12,215 steps. However, about 800 of that is from yesterday. Whenever I get involved in something like exercise, I always go in a big way. We shall see if I can keep up with it. I had some problems with depression, so my place is getting messy. I am surprised I had a bit of lift to my mood which enabled me to get in allot of walking.

As a side note, the software that I use with my activity wrist strap is terrible. It should give me figures on both a weekly basis and by day. This does not happen. Instead, it gives me the total since when the monitor was initialized. The graphs are terrible giving little worthwhile information. The software is named VeryFit Pro. Some of the information that it gives me is in error. It does not even provide me a heart bpm max for a walk. Buyer beware with these things. I am going to initialize it before going to bed. This should give me what I need. I will just use the wrist strap by itself.

Update: I cannot find how to initialize this thing. UpDownAround, how do I initialize this monitor! Through the VeryFit Pro software?

Mine automatically resets for every day at midnight. I didn't have to do anything to get it in that mode. It remembers prior days when I sync up. Sometimes I just tap the watch a few times to see how many steps I am at before I post it at night. It shows me days, week, month and year to date, which works out nicely since I got it for Christmas.

There is a "reboot device" under Device and then More, but I never had to do that. I turned off the automatic heartbeat detection because I like to wear it a little loose. They have to be fairly tight against your skin to get the heartbeat right. I hold it in place and tap it to get it in heart beat mode if I want to check it.

So, I made another mistake logging yesterday, but this time it was just 50 calories. I had entered 2 tbs instead of 4 for the PB2 in my morning yogurt, so this morning I entered 6 instead of 4. Makes me wonder how many times I have made mistakes I didn't catch. Tomorrow morning's weigh in will be interesting; I felt real good about getting a new low reading 3 days ago, but then yesterday I had it jump up over 2 pounds. That was almost certainly water and the extra food (bowl of oatmeal I forgot to log), but it made me a little nervous about my new calorie goal. I probably shouldn't worry; I doubt I would have seen that lowest reading if it was too much.

I weigh 182 today. Looking at my past days on my diet, I see that I have been bouncing between 1800 and 2200 for about a week. This is not too bad. I want to keep doing this, except I want the calories to be going between 2000 and 2300. I will start out with two slices of left over pizza. I think this will end up as a low calorie day. So I will have a fruit smoothie. Next I will have oatmeal for lunch. I will base my choice of dinner on the calories I have left to my target. I may need to eat a couple squares of chocolate to help boost the calories.

@UpDownAround: My watch has reset itself today. It did not do this yesterday. However, the heart bpm is inaccurate, for I can take it off my wrist and still get displayed readings. Do you have the same problem!

PS I made another pie. However, after one slice yesterday, I gave it to my daughter. Out of sight, out of mind. Correct?

@Tucson: Glad to hear it is working better.

I think I need to start bouncing around in a range instead of always trying to get exactly to 1650. Part of it is that it is never exact. I eat a lot of fruit and for much of it I just use entries for a single piece of fruit about the right size. I do weigh bananas and some apples.

Eating oatmeal multiple times a day leaves me less room for picking things I really want. I like oatmeal, but I wouldn't commit so much of my calorie allowance to it every day if I wasn't trying this challenge to lower LDL. Anyway, I like pie and would love to fit in a slice here and there. Edwards singles of banana cream and lemon icebox are about 320 calories; not that hard to squeeze in every now and then.

I am happy with myself.
When my plate lunch came to me There was way too much food. So I immediately asked for a to go container and split the food in half to take home for later.
It was very good:
chicken schwarma with grecian sauce, tabouli, lentil rice and beets.
I have a whole other meal to eat sometime.
Can't beat that for $8.50. 2 meals! and it was all healthy organic veggies.
I am awaiting the foundation person to come and evaluate our foundation.
He was due at 1pm and called to say he was running very behind. I told him I had all afternoon.
Think I will go make some coffee. We are using espresso beans, freshly ground and it is so good! I like my coffee strong.
I will drink 3-4 cups a day and hubby has half a cup because it is so strong.
have a good day yall!
Hugs to those who need them.

I have 1,128 steps for the day. This is normal for a “do nothing” day. Tomorrow I will walk somewhere again. Maybe I will walk to Trader Joe’s? With the help from a couple blocks of a Hershey’s bar, I made my minimum target of 2000 calories. I went to a bar noted for their hamburgers. I ate a half of a half pound hamburger. I drank half of a Pepsi. I ate a couple fries. When I come across a high calorie meal, I try to divide it in half. This usually makes the calorie count much more manageable for me.

Ate very healthy tonight.
Double helpings of zuchinni and green beans, marinated chicken, few little potatoes and a very small piece of the best lemon cake that I have ever had!!!! with berries and whipped cream.
moderation, though I am still hungry, I could have eaten more but wanted them to have left overs for brian to take for lunch.
I am looking forward to our nightly pop corn. I found one hundred calorie pop corn, it is very good.
Think I will make some hot tea.
nite yall!
