Learning about conditioning right now. Of course I remember generalities but it's interesting getting in depth again. Looking at myself and seeing examples. Like, wearing earrings. I started doing that again recently when I learned that they've changed the formulation or something in the hypoallergenic ones and I can actually wear cheap earrings, even the $2.88 ones from WalMart. I get so many compliments when I wear them at work! Compliments make me feel good. So I've begun associating wearing earrings with feeling good. So what did I do first thing this morning when getting dressed for the day? Put in earrings - even though I'm at home, alone, studying and doing chores. lol

New landlady is in excellent shape (Olympian in comparison to me) and way older than me. Gosling I believe is also in excellent shape and way younger than me (twenties)? From these examples, I can only conclude that something happens to the brain when one starts exercising so much? The 'Great job's start to roll out in epic proportions? |

I just exercised for 2 1/2 hours and have no desire to tell anyone "great job."
I am at the supermarket and dear lord there is yet another new kind of Oreo, cookie butter. Pretty sure they stole that from TJ's speculoos sandwich cookies. It's like there's a new kind every time I go grocery shoppng. The Fall is accelerating. I blame Nabisco. Last edited by atisketatasket; Sep 23, 2017 at 02:49 PM. |

![]() OMG Y'ALL I've been doing another long string of 70-80h weeks and finally have today off, so I decided to Do Some Self Care and went to get a 30-minute massage. It was *amaaaaaazing*. It was $67 (including a soak in their hot tub afterward), which is pretty steep, but holy crap was it worth it. My body is actually kinda happy, which is a minor miracle ![]() |

Cooking crisis
![]() I gouged my finger with my veggie peeler, then deseeded and sliced a serrano chili= misery. But hey there's more, I burned the same entire finger real good on the side of my oven. Punchline: concert tonight. You can do it, my finger! (You're doing a great job?)

I'm confused about this game night. He hosts a game night for all his clients? Is the t there too? I'd probably be nervous too.

informal couch poll: if you said "i love you" to your t and they responded "I know", would that bother you? i know there are couchies who would never utter such a thing to a t, but for those that would....?
This was even a dream "I love you" - not a literal one. I had just read from my notebook that in the dream I had telepathically sent that to her. And she says "I know" in response to a dream "I love you". Maybe I'm completely off base, but it felt very dismissive. Or it's just cuz it was part of a dream and I wasn't wanting any response at all other than to work with the dream as a whole. I dunno. ![]() Just curious. eta: when i've said that to her in the past not as part of a dream, she's responded 'thank you' or 'i'm touched' or even just 'awww' by itself and those were all fine. but this bugs me. This irritated me. I felt patronized. And.... it had been about 8 years since I had said this to anyone, so I really don't take it lightly. But we never talked about it. Especially itritating because he says things upon occasion like "you are loved here" and "L and I love you" but never an "I" "love" "you" ![]()

How often are people at the same place at the same time? And even so, a t does or should try to remain an observer of the moment, as well as participating in the moment as a t. I would probably never utter such a thing to a tbut if I did, "I know" would strike me as patronizing and distancing. There's gotta be a way for a to respond to "I love you" that is genuine and feels good to both t and client... maybe if the t couldn't bring herself to say, "I love you too," she could say something like "I'm touched to hear you say that. I care a great deal about you too?" That would feel far less s#!tty to me.
