Followed through with my diet, but instead of protein shake and yogurt, I had 10 ritz cracker, CLIF energy bar, then green beans doused in olive oil! Delish!

Might go ahead and have some yogurt tonight anyway.

Breakfast: 2-egg omelet with mushrooms, bell pepper, tomato, diced ham, and Mexican cheese
Lunch: 2 cups of Beef Macaroni Soup
Dinner: Steak and mixed veggies

My blood sugar is good.

Went in to tr prepared to go all out because I was mad I've only lost one pound this week. Had my whole "why even bother you'll never lose 25 pounds just quit). So I ate a roll at Texas Roadhouse and ordered a bacon cheeseburger. Then the server asked me if fries were ok or if I wanted to sub them out. I paused and reluctantly said to give me the side salad instead. Then I ate my salad and my burger with no bun.

So a mini cheat but I caught myself. I'm just discouraged that I'm losing so slowly. I know that one to two pounds per week is recommended though. And at least I still lost a pound this week. I could have gained a pound or more. So it's not as bad as I'm making it seem. Down 14 pounds. Next week I hope it will be 15!

Tara, you're doing great! I figger that successful dieting is 10,000 little decisions made well and you did a good job. Fourteen pounds -- i'm impressed! Dieting is a slow process, i find. A healthy dose of patience is necessary.

I have my first weigh-in tomorrow morning. I'm hoping for at least a pound. I didn't really diet intensely this first week but i skated up to mild hunger many times so i'm fairly pleased with how i've done.

I came in at 185 yesterday so 18 pounds down. Yesterday I had ribs and broccoli and beans at Friday lunch. Probably not the best choice . I also had an ice coffee with cream and only one pump of sugar instead of six. And I had a protein shake.

should be fun then we are to go to a pre mardia gras parade party at 5 pm then the show will start roughly at 7;30 pm. should be fun.

Bizi, have you sought help for your drinking? I think it'd help with your weight loss journey tremendously, as you generally eat pretty healthy.

Anyway, had a bagel for breakfast already. I'm planning on yogurt for snack. Then for lunch, grilled cheese sandwich with a side of green beans (weird, I know. lol), and for snacks, protein shake and probably my rice (also weird).

Yes I know that my gaining 33 pounds last year was from drinking fattening beers and then making bad food decisions. Since having switched to wine instead I have been able to lose 8 pounds in 6 weeks.
I am happy with a slow weight loss.
I am making good food choices. Last night I ate 3 small maccaroons. They were so good!

Breakfast: Oatmeal with strawberries, banana slices, and pecans, and a slice of ham
Lunch: Half a ham sandwich
Snack: Bowl of Cheerios with blueberries, cheese stick
Dinner: Baked cod and green beans

Quite a lot of carbs. Blood sugar at lunch was okay.

@bizi: Nice work

Did your therapist offer to help you with your alcohol addiction issues, despite saying you have an addictive personality "that won't change"? What she said sounds highly discouraging. Do you think DBT could help? I can see how DBT can be applied to alcoholism.

It's goodyou made the move to wine, though. I can see it's certainly helped a lot.

I weighed-in this morning and i gained 0.4 pounds! I'm so disappointed. I binged on chips last night tho. At least i got myself eating healthy this week and solved my bathroom woes. I guess i'll have to get back to food journalling in MyFitnessPal. I thought i could get away without it but obviously not. Discouraged.

At least you caught yourself in time -- and hey, 0.4lbs isn't too bad. It could've been much worse.

You've been doing a great job with your weight loss journey. Never feel discouraged! Slip ups happen. Human nature.

Once in a blue moon, I will binge eat on junk food, if that makes you feel any better.

Oh I know the feeling so well Jane! I know I wouldn't be getting anywhere without tracking. It's a huge pain but I'm so used to it now it's second nature. It will help! But celebrate your healthy eating victory! You know as well as I do that it takes awhile to kick old habits.

It should be in this next week.
I have only seen my new therapist one time, I will see her again
I believe on the 23rd. one time before I leave on a vacation with my family in 2 weeks, on march 4th. So I should have the work book by then and can ask her about helping me get thru it.

We had a great time tonight at the first mardi gras parade. Went to some friends house and had brats then walked to the parade spot and were able to get on the baracade for a good spot to catch beads. The parade had marching bands and over 20 floats. We caught a lot of beads. it lasted over an hour. so that was great!

A healthy brunch today:
3 scrambled eggs with fresh spinach. A side of black bean salsa heated up to put on the eggs with some hot sauce and a side of steamed brocolli.
Delicious!

I went way crazy yesterday. I was feeling so good from the great weather. So I binged all day. And I didn't take my melatonin at night so I ended up staying up until 2:30am and kept getting hungry so I just kept eating. Not good! I've screwed up my natural circadian rhythm by taking melatonin for too long and now I can't sleep without it. When school is out for the summer and I have a couple of weeks off I'm going to try to go cold turkey off of it and see if I can retrain myself to sleep on my own. But anyway point is when I stay up late I snack all night.

So whatever I'm back on today. Atkins shake and bacon for breakfast. Leftover salmon for lunch. I'm having dinner with my brother and his wife. She's cooking chicken Parmesan. I asked her to leave one piece unbreaded for me, AND she offered to make zucchini noodles for me. She's the best. I just had to work the tomato sauce into my carb count for the day. Should be fine.

I'm taking my damn melatonin tonight so I can get to sleep at a decent hour and not eat all night!

Even with the slip yesterday, my jeans keep sliding down today! Going to try the smaller size I have tomorrow to see if they fit better.

I am at Panera and ordered chili only to be told beans have carbs. I think I ate too much too. But I hope it was better than bread.
