I was really nauseated until I went back to my room. Then I did 130 reps with my ab roller and for some reason stretching out my stomach like that really helps.

I want Chipotles. I wonder if I get chicken, white rice instead of brown, no beans, and light cheese if it will be ok.

I ended up doing 330 reps with my ab roller, 41 crunches with my bosu ball, and some leg lifts and oblique crunches too.

My stomach is just blah today. I've somewhat eaten today

.I've had animal crackers and sunflower butter. 6 tortilla chips and a protein shake. I went up on my metformin today. So I'm feeling a bit funky from that. So far I've had 1,175 calories. I'm going to try to eat some mashed potatos for dinner.

Strength training today and going for a walk with an audiobook now. Met the dietitian who encouraged me to go above 10K steps on most days.

I couldn’t stop myself- I bought a charity place for the half marathon. It’s my son’s first one and I wanted to be there (at the start and finish anyway).

Freezing fog today and most of my run was okay, but one stretch was slippery so I walked a section of my run. I think it was 7k or so but I was out there ages so very slow pace. It felt good though.

I don't know how you run in the cold @Discombobulated! I really have a hard time exercising in such cold weather! It was 22F this morning when I got ready to exercise; needless to say, I stuck with pilates. The video I did today had you holding in the plank position for maybe 30 sec. at the end, and I was really struggling there! Hopefully, if I keep at it, it will start to get easier. Maybe I will try to practice staying in the plank even when it is not part of the pilates video I do and/or on days I walk. Seems like eventually it should get easier, right?

Oh planks are tough, I think you’ll get better at them if you practice though @Blueberrybook and they’re great for core and will support your running stamina.

Cold is tough I agree, it wasn’t too bad this morning, except I did have trouble turning my key in the door when I returned so my fingers were a little numb. Cold running feels easier to me than the extreme heat you were coping with a while back!

Monday and Tuesday, personal training.

Wednesday, Orange theory but skipped planks! They are toughest for me.

Tonight will go to Orangetheory again.

@Tart Cherry Jam - Planks are hard! I'm trying to start practicing them even when they are not in my pilates videos and on days I walk. I can only hold a plank 35-40 sec. I want to at least work up to 1 min, but it is so difficult for me.

Once again, it was below freezing outside this morning, frost on the ground so I did pilates again and practiced the plank. Man, those planks are so hard for me! I don't know if it's because I had stomach surgery in the past (repair of a perforated ulcer) and the scar tissue makes it harder, or if I am just that much out of shape in my abs!

I did 430 reps with my ab roller and I've had just about 1500 calories. I'm kinda lazy today.

@ Discombobulated When is the half-marathon? So are you running the whole thing as well as your son?

I did a long power walk this morning, 7.3 miles. But I should have stuck with pilates. It was 36F outside and though above freezing, it really flared up the Raynaud's. I was barely able to get the key in the lock and turn it. If I go out in cold weather like that again I definitely need to leave the back door unlocked just in case. It would take a bomb or something to wake my husband or daughter from sleep to let me back inside, and neither one sleeps with their cellphone near. I think my fingers and lower arms are still reovering from the cold. I took a long soak in a hot bath once my hands could stand the warmer water again. I still need to practice my plank. It's on my mind to do it, then I get busy with other stuff and forget about it.

I did 455 reps with my ab roller and I'm at about 1250 calories so far. Despite cutting out fried, greasy, and fast food along with a ton of other stuff, and I'm working out 6 days a week, my weight isnt going anywhere.

What are your macros? It seems like you report a lot of processed carbs and nut butter. I would say neither of those are conducive to svelte musculature. I watch Obese to Beast and Chikara Transformations on youtube. They both eat non-starving, real portions of real foods.

@Blueberrybook 35-40 seconds for a plank sounds pretty good to me. I heard that planks should be about form not length - so a short hold with good form is better than a longer plank with poor form.

You have the same issue as me with the keys it can be quite panicking to not be able to get that key turned properly! I also don’t want to wake my husband. I normally blow on my hands until I get some feeling. Hoping your cold temperatures shift soon.

No exercise today - we had a storm and it was pretty rough, it’s still going on now but hoping it’ll be calm by morning so I can run:

My half marathon isn’t until September, there’ll be 60,000 in it so quite a lot of starting waves, my son will be nearer the front than me! I last did it 2 years ago and I was very far back then, in fact it took a good 20 mins of walking to get to my start place!

I pretty much just eat what I am allowed to eat with this gastro diet I'm on. Its low fat and low fiber. Crackers and nut butter are easy foods for my body to digest so I'm not in pain and throwing up all day.

I'm still learning and figuring it out. Its really restrictive.

I weighed a few pounds less on the scale today. My appeite has really tanked these last couple of days with the new diet and increase in metformin on Tuesday. Also I was out all morning running errands yesterday and I worked out in the morning.

Today I've had 840 calories, and I did 300 reps with my ab roller.

The wind dropped so I got a run this morning which I really needed after yesterday’s lack of activity, just a stiff breeze but none of the gale force winds of yesterday thankfully. Little mall walk with my husband in the morning which he enjoyed, and a quick shopping trip in the afternoon.

My son got back in from a 12k just before dinner and he smashed the time too, he’s really turned his fitness around this last year, so pleased for him. Mentally I haven’t been great today but that made my day.

I did pilates today after that long walk yesterday. I was pleased however in that my flexibility has improved quite a bit from when I first started doing pilates. Also, I've been better able on floor leg exercises at keeping my hips still (as the instructor suggests and not rocking through them), and wow, I couldn't do that at all in the beginning; I rocked through my hips a lot no matter how still I tried to hold them. And I held a plank 1 min. today and a second time for 45 sec! Maybe I'm not quite as hopeless as I thought. And I can once again get up from a seated position on the floor without pressing down on the floor or grabbing nearby furniture to stand back up! I'm sure power walking helps some too, but I have to say I think pilates is definitely helping my overall core strength.

I went for a long power walk this morning, 7.1 miles. It drizzled a little, but not too bad and the rain stopped after not too long. The temperature was 55F with high humidity, so for a change, I wasn't cold exercising outside I practiced the plank twice this morning, and I was able to hold it for 1 min. both times.! I want to practice it again a time or two this afternoon.

@Tart Cherry Jam You've been doing a fantastic job exercising! Have you been seeing results on the scale?

Thank you for asking! On the scale, just a little bit, but people comment positively on my shape, saying that I must have lost weight. In reality, just a little in terms of numbers, but my musculature must have tightened in the right places to give the impression of weight loss. And I am quite happy about this. Clothes fit better. What else can I ask for?

On Tuesday, I will take the highest dosage Mounjaro, upping from 12.5 to 15 mg. In the past the insurance would not approve 15 mg but this year it did. I cannot wait to see if that helps me lose some more weight. In the meantime, will continue exercising. At the yoga studio, there is a couple, woman and man, who come very often. I think the man attends the studio 6 times a week - different classes. They know me by name and the yoga teacher does, too. She asks how I am doing, remembers that I had iron deficiency and then skipped several months due to injury, and asks how the recovery goes. And there are some other regulars whom I do not yet know by name but know enough to look forward to each new class. It does feel nice to be greeted by people who care. What we have on this thread but IRL. And it is a Friday evening class, so it is a very good way to transition from the work week to the weekend. Makes exercise pleasant which is not unimportant.
