I ate about 1400 calories and I did 400 reps with my ab roller. I'm probably low on food. I ate pretty decent stuff. Yogurt and blueberries and stuff. My mom is making pot roast for dinner which I can't have but I can eat the egg noodles by themselves.
I ended up doing at least 70 crunches, and 30 oblique crunches with my bosu ball. Plus another 100 reps with my ab roller. I upped my calories to 1590 and then I took 15mg melatonin to slow the urge from doing any more.

I did my whole workout as soon as I got up. 500 reps with the ab roller and 90? I think forms of crunches with bosu ball. I'm feeling it right now though and I took a couple Tylenol and I have my heating pad on. Food wise I still need to figure out at least 500 more calories. I'm in my range with all my sodium, and protein, and fat and fiber goals. I am starting to see progress on the scale. But mainly I just look better after all the working out I've been doing.

I woke up dead tired physically this morning, probably because I started my period. I was able to still hold a 1 min. and then a 45 sec plank but it was extra hard today! I soldiered through pilates. It was a beginner video, but one of the moves required some extreme balance I definitely have to work up to. I kept nearly falling over (thankfully it was on hands and knees but pulling one knee in to the chest with pulling the opposite arm in towards the chest then pulling those 2 straight out, repeat 10X, switch sides). I am sorely lacking on that type of balance!
Edit: I got pretty agitated after lunch, so I walked around the block a couple of times, just over a mile in the hopes of calming down. Not quite a power walk but still walking at a good clip.

I did my workout today. 400 reps with the ab roller. And 60 forms of crunches with the bosu ball. Then I threw up from pushing myself so hard. And also from eating subutter and apple slices in between reps. But I went down another pound on the scale.

I woke up this morning feeling a lot more like myself than I did yesterday, more energetic and less agitated. I took a long 7.2 mile power walk; I do a lot of thinking walking, saw 2 cute cats & a possum while walking. I know a lot of people view possums as pests and they can be (though they eat mosquitoes, always a positive!), but they are cute and interesting in their own way. I don't often see them out that close to dawn, probably been 6 months or more.
I practiced my planks again this morning too, was able to hold a 1 min. plank twice. I want to practice it again at least once more today. I'm concentrating very hard on holding a good form the entire time though I have to admit the last 20 seconds is tough!

I did pilates this morning as it seems I am getting the best results for toning by alternating power walking and pilates. I am doing the beginner pilates playlist for Move with Nicole free on YouTube; it is compiled of 10 videos, some of which I have done so often, I have the words memorized, others only once or twice, and some not at all. Some of those moves she does, my balance just isn't there (but I'm determined to keep trying and at least get better at it!). Other parts of the video are easy or okay for me but some parts hard, like the tricep pushups (which basically you do a push-up on your knees, slide back into child's pose, shift your weight back to the pushup position on your knees, do a pushup, child's pose, pushup, etc.) It's only in some of the videos, and you only do about 20 of those each time, but it's been enough to tell a noticeable definition om in my triceps.
Oh, and I did the 1 min plank twice, going to try to do it once again this afternoon.

I only did 60 reps with my ab roller before my body said "forget about it" I've had 1,370 calories.

It's important to listen to your body. I'm not a good example, but rest days are important too.

Long power walk again this morning, 7.2 miles. It was close to 70F outside, so I was in a tank top and shorts. That's the one good thing about winter here; it never stays cold for too long. I practiced the plank again this morning and want do it another time yet this afternoon.

Pilates this morning; whoa, the video today sure worked my arms! They are going to be sore tomorrow. You can tell you're in for it when the instructor is counting, says, "Ouch, ouch, keep going, just a few more, okay, next arm exercise..." And I'm thinking "WHEN can we rest our arms already?!" But it's all good. I survived it. Practiced planks too. Hopefully will take a walk again tomorrow morning.

I did my normal workout. 500 reps with the ab roller and 60 crunches with the bosu ball. I ate as decently as I could. I had salmon which was good. I had a lot of graham crackers but my doctor said that was going to be a main food group for me. I was in my calorie range at least.

Thursday’s run was like Wednesday’s, a plod, hard work - again poor sleep earlier in the week along with emotional upset impacted on my energy.
Today’s felt better, it was milder too and no frost or ice, I did my longer run (7k) along sea front and enjoyed that, then back up the bank which felt hard at first and then eased. A nice little spurt of energy at the end let me finish with my pace raised. It was good to be reminded running can still feel good. |

I did 500 reps with the ab roller but I did an extra 20 crunches with the bosu ball so 80 instead of 60. I've had just over 1000 calories to eat so I need to figuure out some stuff
On the days I work out I'm not very hungry.

Whenever I work out, I'm usually starving! Especially when I work out hard, like with power walking.
I went for an extra long power walk this morning, trying to clear my mind, 8.15 miles, it ended up being. It was in the upper 40s, so still on the chilly side. I was glad I wore gloves! Held the plank 4 times for a minute. Maybe the plank is a tad easier, but only just barely!

I did my normal 500 reps with the ab roller and 60 sit ups. 30 regular and 30 oblique. I've had 783 calories so far. I'm not hungry today, just a bit frustrated with what I can't eat. I keep telling myself its a good thing to not to be able to eat a lot of stuff. I hope I get used to it soon.

I did pilates this morning as I've found trading off power walking and pilates has given me the best results in regards to toning. But the video I did was tagged Beginner to Moderate pilates, and the moderat part sure was hard. I was nearly falling over (but being sort of in a plank position on a mat while lifting one hand and crossing it over the other meant I didn't have far to fall down on the mat). But I managed some of the other exercises I wouldn't have been able to do a few month back, so some progress at least. I practiced the plank a couple times this morning and hope to do it again once or twice in the afternoon. I do think I am getting better at holding the plank in good form for 1 minute; either that, or I'm getting better at mentally distracting myself that I am holding a plank and the time seems to go by a bit faster!
@Discombobulated - It is awesome that you had a good run! When consecutive runs get hard and plodding, it is tough to remember what good runs feel like. I wish I could run again but being that I injure myself so often running, perhaps sticking to power walking is better for me.

Great observation about trading off power walking and pilates, Blueberry. Makes total sense.

47 minutes of walking today. Not brisk.
On Thursday, stretching. Nothing on Friday as I had someone visit me and nothing yesterday as I had a migraine.

I found these Greek frozen yogurt bars that are pretty satisfying. And I found out Starbucks has an egg pesto mozzerella sandwhich. So yesterday I didn't have much of any trouble. My weight was good this morning. I haven't worked out yet. I've only had 160 calories.
I did 150 reps with my ab roller and then 60 forms of crunches and then I threw up. I guess I'll take it easy today with the working out. I felt better so I finshed off the rest of my 500 reps.

Long power walk today, 7.2 mi. It was warm, around 70F, but a slight breeze made the walk not too unpleasant. I am definitely much more acclimated to warm weather than to cold! Still practicing the planks

I have been going gangbusters cleaning up my apartment for an AC replacement tomorrow. I keep working to exhaustion. I know ive gone too far if i start peeing myself - that has happened the last several times ive moved house. I hate deadlines. I was lucky that my friend who works in the office called me and warned me about this, because i did not see the notice buried under all the crap at the front door. Geez use the email, people! Consistency is not their strong suit.
I still have cleaning to do but my legs are all wobbly. Oh my point was - i need to take this start and keep it going, it does feel good. And as much as i hate deadlines, i am my father's mule - i work best under a stick. |

I work best under a deadline, too. My freshman year's professor of political economy, a young guy, told us that you learn the most when under time pressure. Not sure it is true for everyone, tho
