No structured purposeful exercise today, but walked to and from appointments. As a result, logged 8599 steps. Not bad

Hope the weigh in goes okay Hitch.

My legs definitely felt fatigued last night lol, I’d forgotten what the long run feeling was like. I pushed myself out for a recovery run this morning which is slow and short, on my original couch to 5k route. It’s rainy here today but I quite like running in summer rain. Legs feel fine now.

I slept for like 15 hours or something and I've just had a few Oreos and an iced coffee in over 20 hours. So I'm pretty hungry right now.

I had a dental appt. this morning, and I was tired anyway, so I did a pilates video. The video is not that hard for me but has a killer arm workout right at the very end of the video, but that arm segment has served me well in toning my triceps and biceps even though it has not gotten easier in all this time I've been doing pilates. Did plank practice too.

I forgot to answer your question blueberry - half marathon is 21.1km .

It sounds like you’ve made some good progress with Pilates and very impressive you can do a killer arm workout, how’s your wrist doing?

I ate a salad at 11. I'm not hungry or thirsty. I figured it was the antibiotic making me so hungry because I wasn't very hungry before it from the iron and I stopped being hungry as soon as I stopped the antibiotic

Or else I just have ****** self control since I seem to say this or that causes hunger. But it is med related I think. Basically any cold medicine, or any sleeping med and any antibiotic I can't do without getting hungry.

But the scale is going down.

My wrist is on the mend but still I can't do high or side planks or much work on all fours. It was coming along just fine until I overbalanced on the couch arm reaching for the remote control...I have always been on the clumsy side so that doesn't help things!

You are steadily approaching the 21 km with that long run you did the other day! Do you have hot weather for running now or just warm? I'd kill for just warm workouts, and it doesn't help it's getting light at 6 AM in the mornings; after the solstice, the days will start shortening and the mornings will steadily start getting darker for longer of my walk.

I took my walk this morning. It was a bit difficult as someone was evidently barbecuing over a wood-smoke fire in the neighborhood and the smoke was thick. Likely someone doing a slow 10-12 hr roast on beef. School let out yesterday, probably someone is having a party either to celebrate the end of the school year or possibly a senior who has graduated. Still, it did make the walk more difficult than normal.

I ate 17 Twizzlers and some pretzels and a few Pringles. My stomach is thanking me right now. I have a broccoli cheddar quiche I need to eat for dinner. I did a lot of work in the garage at 6 and then I ran some errands at 10. I did 5 minutes on my treadmill at 1:15 but I'm still having trouble with it.

But I knew the gel insoles would help a ton.

A 6k this morning even though I wasn’t keen on getting up lol, once I was outside I was fine. I’ve had a bit of trouble with mental gremlins recently and luckily running seems to help massively in sweeping them out.

Thanks blueberry, yes steadily making my way up on the long runs bit by bit, some people say as long as you can run 15k in training you’ll be fine on a half marathon but I’ve always liked to do the full distance in training.

Wood smoke is awful blueberry, poor you coping with that, it’s full of pollutants too and in my opinion people should know better these days than to inflict it on their whole neighbourhood.

I'm not going to push myself today. Its not a day to be doing that anyways. I won't force myself to eat if I'm not hungry but if I do get hungry then thats fine too. I had some Lentil chips to settle my meds and a few pieces of berry licorice for breakfast.

The quiche last night was really good. It was just a walmart one from their deli.

Ugh, well I overdid it on the exercise this morning even though I was dead tired (woke at 3:30 AM, couldn't fall back asleep) and started my period yesterday. I ended up doing more a of a hike than a power walk, 2 hr. in the heat, that is too much, I shouldn't exercise that much, but I will be going to a graduation party & out to eat at a hamburger place today, so after that much exercise I should just enjoy myself. And my absolute goal is to practice intuitive eating.

I lost a few pounds from not feeling good yesterday. This morning I had some Swedish Fish and a little cup of corn. I also had a pretzel bagel. No clue on the rest of the day but I have stuff. I still feel sick.

I was pretty tired this morning, so I did the easiest pilates video in the series I like. It pretty much feels like an extended stretching session for me, and the end is great with a good 5 min. or so of stretching not counting some of the stretches between exercises (espeically child's pose, that feels wonderful). The stretching really felt good on my lower back muscles which were a bit stiff from having to sit in the backseat of the car driving to my nephew's graduation yesterday. H has to ride in front as he is 6'4" tall and needs to push the driver's seat back to the maximum. My daughter has to sit in front because she has a tendency to get carsick. So lucky me, I get the backseat behind my daughter which isn't exactly the most comfortable, and our drive yesterday was 1.5 hr. each way. Did some planks too.

Noticed today wow, I have gotten quite a lot of muscle all over my body, lean muscle, not like a body builder or something. I am quite happy with my physical appearance. Well, I could do without the scar from ulcer surgery and the saggy boobs from breastfeeding, but otherwise feeling pretty good about how much exercise has helped me in the past year to accomplish this It was last June or July I started walking again as well as doing pilates and combining power walking with pilates and planks has been dynamite for me.

I’m thinking of moving the exercise bike from the garage into my bedroom. It’s way too cold in the garage in the morning. Or just uptake my walking on the weekends. I feel like I have to starve myself to lose 4kg!

@Crazy Hitch That's kind of a lot of weight loss in a month, no? That's nearly 9 lb. in one month when you don't have that much to lose in the big scheme of things. I think exercise will help but I wouldn't beat yourself up if you fall short of that goal. 1-2 lb. loss a week is a healthy sustainable weight loss, but it doesn't mean you need to lose 2 lb. weekly. Adding exercise will probably help you a lot though. And it will help with toning as well.

You're right it's a lot she wants me to lose! I've got 10kg to go so losing 4kg in a month seems a bit excessive but it feels like the pressure is on me now....

My personal trainer said that people who lose weight with walking alone fo not change body composition - they lose fat and muscle mass equally and become smaller but not leaner. Of course he has a vested interest in promoting strength training, but still, I thought I would share it with you

Personal training yesterday.

Today, Orangetheory 3 G (treads, rowing and weight training) and a brisk walk around the complex in the evening. At Orangetheory, I did some weight exercises to muscle failure and it felt great. Then my thighs were pleasantly sore during the evening walk. Yes!

Between pilates and power walking though I have gotten a lot of lean muscle, but maybe it's power walking the key vs. walking alone? Maybe since you are swinging your arms as well. I average just under 15 min. a mile. Oh, and I do planks pretty much daily. Move with Nicole (you can google it) is a fantastic pilates series (free!) on YouTube on and the best I have found. In particular, her Absolute Beginners Video is Awesome, and her Gentle Pilates Video is fantastic; it's got a challenging arm series at the end but great stretches afterwards. Her other beginnger's videos are good too but quite a bit more challenging! I love that she always ends her videos with stretching at the end. The 2 videos I mentioned run about 35 min. each.

I lost a couple more oz since yesterday. This morning I had some Lesser Evil puffs and a PBJ Lunchable and a cup of reduced sodium vegetable broth. I did 860 reps with my ab roller.
